Inside Edition reported today that Carrie and Bo are performing with Rascal Flatts and Lynyrd Skynyrd respectively Tuesday night, which should be ridiculously awesome.

So your point is, we shouldn't be impressed by Bo's
awesome a capella rendition of "Within a Dream"
because he's sung it before?

No, just that part of the sizzle of it was that it was such a dangerous thing to do. People were going, "Wow!" before he even really started the song. I think it affected how people looked at the performance. Do you not agree that it would be much more amazing if he'd never done it before a capella, and I think that's what a lot of people thought-- that they were seeing the debut of this performance?

No, I do not agree.

It just sounds like sour grapes from a die hard Carrie fan.

I have to go with Bo, he has a marketable voice and personailty for showbiz. That puts him up 2 IMO.

Carrie is amazing also...she's phenomenal.
No need to sully either one.

Bo has much better charisma, that's for sure.

I think they both have amazing singing talent, but I lean towards Carrie because she just doesn't have as much access to opportunities in the music biz as Bo has had.

If Bo loses AI, someone will still sign him.

Bo's a great entertainer, easy on the eyes and ears.

The reasons you edge toward her is exactly why I don't.

Bo has been working hard to get to where he is ready to be "now". She needs lots more grooming before she even gets to be a poor country western singer IMO. She is unmarketable for the most part IMO.

Her singing isn't THAT good either, whereas a year from now, we will be hearing a Bo hit single or two I am sure.

Bo is the most marketable guy of the last few years IMO.
He will make a record company and himself money.
Carrie won't do the same after the American Idol Tour is over IMO. She doesn't have "IT" IMO.

He's ready to go entertain professionaly NOW, he is not a work in progress like the other lady will be.

Exactly.
Folks can argue over style, but not about his competence.
Call it trite, but this is about entertainment value.

Right again.
Since when is someone punished for being too professional?!!!

I'm for Bo because he represents America, warts and all.
The music business is relentless. He found a way to
break through. More power to him.

Hi :)

I'm starting to root for Bo, too. Nothing against Carrie, but Bo is much more comfortable on stage, which allows the audience to feel comfortable.

With Carrie, I'm always a little nervous, and that makes it difficult to enjoy her performances, even when she's great.

And I agree with you--the fact that Bo performed that particular song before doesn't lessen my opinion of him (or his performance) at all.

You know, I was standing there, phone in hand ready to vote the other night.

I was going to vote for both Bo and Carrie
when it struck me. It's that "comfort" factor,
like you said. Who did I actually enjoy more?
Which one inspires me more?
Only in America can you stumble and fall down hard
and pick yourself up again, and make the struggle pay off.

Making a living in the arts is hard work, because to be
marketable, it has to look easy and effortless, like
a duck in water, smooth on the surface, but paddling like he!! underneath.

Bo's got that irresistable grit.
I trust people who've been to Helen Bach..

That is a cute picture of Carrie. It looks playful.

Wow, as pretty as Carrie is, if she placed third those other girls must be really something.

I like that. I'm hoping this isn't just some sort of fling brought on by a shared experience.

They are so cute together.

It's interesting that Vonzell isn't in the same sentence. It might reinforce my feeling that she wasn't really part of the group.

It's nice that Carrie's mom felt close to Anthony. (or should I say "Anthy Bear"!)

They all must be so strung out by now. I can't imagine the pressure.
