Yes, Carrie was just adorable. She was so cute talkin' like a true country girl.

Bo's sunglasses were at least those smaller ones, not the huge ones he wore a couple weeks ago while he was sitting on the couch. Of course, now that I think about it, maybe he's sensitive to light and the way they have to light for interviews is those use those big bright lights aren't they?

It looked silly to me, with the sky behind him dark, but maybe it was the lights?

You are probably so right about his momma and that gum he was chewing! He probably heard about that later!

Have they ever shown Bo's girlfriend? I was just wondering. I couldn't remember ever seeing her.

The judges were unjustly harsh with him on many ocassions. My husband believed they were trying to sabotage him. I agree.

I wonder why though. As someone else pointed out, a white male winner would be nice, too.

They showed her in the week that they had their baby pictures.

She was so cute talkin' like a true country girl.

The part that really cracked me up was when the interviewer started asking her about her different hair styles and she couldn't quite understand him, so she drawled, "Do whuuuuut?" I about fell off the couch laughing ... I felt like I'd been teleported right back to my little bitty hometown in Texas! So cute!

Dunno about Bo's GF. Must be keeping her under wraps. But maybe we'll see a wedding announcement from them soon (one hopes so, with a kiddo on the way!). I could understand why they wouldn't want to do that during the contest, though, since it could be seen as a bid for sympathy/attention.

Very interesting post Wolfstar.

I didn't know this.....

They have ALWAYS reserved the right to select the AI in the end if they don't like the person the public votes in.

You're right that would be a public relations nightmare. They don't seem really interested in Reuben or Fantasia. Is that why do you think? They can't really do as much with them as they could Kelly?

How long are they under contract with AI? Is it one year?

Clay got out more or less right away didn't he? I didn't know until last week that 19E had first dibs on all of them. Maybe it was you that said that?

I wonder if they will play on the relationship between Anthony and Carrie and let them do some songs together?

I hope so. They've got a very obvious chemistry that comes across on screen quite well in my opinion.

Anthony really is a talented kid and he has proved himself to be able to take criticism like a man and take suggestions to heart. I would think he would be a producers dream.

I sure do love his voice.

Speaking of great voices, did you hear that little clip of John Steven's version of that Maroon 5 song? I forget the name of it, but my youngest is a HUGE Maroon 5 fan and she likes John Steven's version better.

I'm going to get his CD when it comes out next month.

I wonder why they think they DESERVE any answers from Paula?

That kind of arrogance just blows my mind.

Don't laugh at me, because basically I suck at math, but is that 10 million margin for the whole season or for the final vote?

I had a lot of trouble getting thru to vote for Bo. I dialed over and over thirty times and finally got one vote in. I dialed many more times just to see how long it would take to get a second vote in. After recording the two votes, I gave up in frustration.

This contest isn't entirely legit, IMO, until they make it easier to get thru. Like, having TEN numbers to call for each contestant.

Did you try all 3 numbers? I couldn't get through on 01 or 05, but when I tried 03 I got through with no problems. I ended up voting for him 50 times! (Seems like a lot to me ... though I know I'm a piker compared to some here.) OTOH, I am on the West coast and I didn't start to vote until nearly an hour after the show was over. That could have made a difference.

To: Veto!

I've only been to sunny Florida a couple of times. Side note here, my exhusband is a border patrol agent who was transfered there while I was left in Houston.

We had a big fight once when he was home for a visit and I pinned a note to his luggage that I hope he enjoys his life in Sunny F****** Florida. He's never let me forget that. (I never really talk that way normally). Anyway it's been sort of a fun joke between us for years. He's a ex, but he's one of my most favorite people in the world!

So, when I read sunny Fl on your post, I automatically added the other word in my head. Sorry about that. ;-)

Now as far as young and glam, you'll be able to stay young and glam by comparison until you are about 85! I remember lots of very old men there. So, you've probably got 40 or 50 years left to be the young hip chick!

Hey, speaking of my ex, he's single and he's 51. I'm crazy about him and would love for him to meet a nice girl. Do you live anywhere near Hollywood Fla?

They showed her in the week that they had their baby pictures.

Darn I guess I missed her. I vaguely remember a brunette with long hair, but that could have been anyone I guess. I sure hope he marries her soon, with that bitty baby on the way.

so she drawled, "Do whuuuuut?"

That was funny! She sounds like me though, and probably you too if you are from Texas. Where are you from?

I was born in Houston, but lived out near Spring/Tomball, west of Houston for most of that time. Still here.

I'm on the East Coast and I waited till the half hour before starting to vote, to give the early starters time to clear the lines. If you on the West Coast got thru 50 times, and I on the East Coast only got through twice when making at least 50 calls....then there's a disadvantage to those calling from the East Coast.

As I said before, the voting process leaves a lot to be desired. No one can convince me that the vote wasn't decided in advance. The producers wanted Carrie to win. Simon told Carrie that her accomplishments put her over the top (can't remember the exact words, but I remember Simon's self-satisfied smug face when he said it.)

Da votin' is rigged, IMO.

You might have given up too soon. I found that the last hour almost every call I made went through.

I agree. It just seems to me that the numbers must be very close all the time, since people will just slam the phone system until time runs out. So most will be very close in total numbers of votes

Having alternate numbers might help. Or some way to have only one vote per person, but that seems hard to do, since many people watch with their families or with a crowd.

Well, I can talk like a true Texian when I've a mind to, but most of the time I have a more neutral accent. My parents were both from Kansas and I ended up with more of a Midwestern sound. But I'm proud to be from Weatherford (close to Fort Worth), home of the world's largest watermelon and the Parker County Peach Festival! Yeehaw! :)
