Posted on 03/12/2005 8:28:07 PM PST by LoudAmericanCowboy

This is so silly what I'm gonna ask, but everytime I look at FR, I see ppl's posts with small personal sayings or quotes at the bottom. How do i do that!

asking questions is a hell of alot faster way to finding the answers then searching around all the time.....just think of any new job you had....plus hey, Jim Robinson was a "newbie" when he started this site......we all go thru it

"That was a stupid question. This one isn't that stupid."
IIRC, there was a good long and boring scholastic discussion on the degrees of stupidity and ignorance (what is merely "dense" and what constitutes "invincible ignorance") in inquisition manual "Malleus Maleficarum".
For the Inquisition it was very important, for only "invincible ignorance" [or equally intense stupidity] could serve in lieu of our contemporary insanity defense, and so it was discussed in that context. Since USSC started looking into foreign jurisprudence on juvenile executions, maybe they ought to incorporate this part as well?

My first PC had no internal memory. The external memory was an audio tape recorder. I don't care what the salesman said, it didn't work. Every time I turned the PC on, I had to program it. I invariably screwed something up, and wound up with an endless loop in my programming. Maybe it's because I kept adding an extra four-letter word to the command .

See? I'm still screwing up. Let me try that last sentence again.

Maybe it's because I kept adding an extra four-letter word to the command < GO TO >.

Yes i got it now. Sorry about that. I didnt know the Taglines could be SAVED (I thought they were only there each time you wrote in them). SORRY!

Don't be sorry. Most of us love new folks around here. Sometimes we get a little steamed amongst ourselves, but there is a tremndous wealth of talent her on Free Republic. Accountants, Lawyers, Doctors, Businemen and women, pipefitters, carpenters, surveyors, nurses... you name it, we're here. Relax, settle down, hang in and lurck for a few weeks/months.

THEN, ask a few questions about the MILITARY. For example I like the Warthog A-10 aircraft. Holy-shiite! I had more links on that aircraft that I could ever imagine.

PS: If you're a lib that hates this country; you're toast. And we will seek you out... with all of our assault high speed .22 single shot bayonette fitted weapons and hunt you down with our evil 16 thousand ton SUVs without Donald Rumsfeld's armor.

Series... Welcome!

My first PC had no internal memory. The external memory was an audio tape recorder.

Myself, Don French, who built the machine, another salesman, and John Roach, who later became Chariman of Tandy Corporation, took the covers off of the first TRS-80 Model 1 at the First West Coast Computer Faire in the early summer of 1977. That was several months before Apple delivered a complete, built at the factory, PC (they had kits before that). I took money and delivered PCs at that show.

Jobs and Woz were actually in the booth next to ours showing a prototype of their new PC. Woz came over to show a potential customer that the Trash 80 didn't have the ability to type a key until you had let go of the previous key. What I remember is him saying "See? No keyboard rollover! No keyboard rollover!" I slapped his hand away.

If I'd only known then what I know now....

So THAT'S where any key is! Mine's harder to find, it's not colored blue.
