True Grit starring GWB, er, I mean John Wayne (and the chick who Glen Cambell got to spank -- the highlight of his career).

Not my favorite movie but a good movie I saw recently with a conservative theme was The Incredibles - but I only get to see movies like that because of the 5 year old in my house.

Lonesome Dove (Yeah, I know, not exactly a "movie")

The main themes include individual responsibility, strength of character, loyalty, honoring your word and doing what needs to be done no matter how unpleasant.

...and of course shootin' Injuns and hangin' outlaws.

Rob Roy was my favorite movie in all categories. I liked the part at the end when the pansy government patsy got sliced in two by McGregor (Liam Neeson) who only wanted to keep his land, his cattle and his wife and children.

Any time a person is honorable in a film....it's a conservative film!

I thought Secondhand Lions had good Republican themes.

As Hub says:

"Sometimes the things that may or may not be true are the things a man needs to believe in the most. That people are basically good; that honor, courage, and virtue mean everything; that power and money, money and power mean nothing; that good always triumphs over evil; and I want you to remember this, that love... true love never dies. You remember that, boy. You remember that. Doesn't matter if it's true or not. You see, a man should believe in those things, because those are the things worth believing in."

That strikes me as quite Republican.

That plus the kid's mother strikes me so much as being like a modern Democrat.

It's important to go out with your boots on, a lesson we as Republicans seem to know better than Democrats during this War on Terror.
