I finally broke down today and wrote Fox a nasty email.
I can not take another heart sobbing story about a convicted excon and a child molesting pervert. Has Fox turned into the National Enquirer of cable?
How many ways can you tell a story and how many times does their loyal listeners have to put up with worthless entertainment news?
For the first time in months I found myself having to switch channels so as not to start sobbing all over again about poor Martha and Michael.
The world is going to hell in a hand basket and our beloved Fox is falling into the old CNN trap.
Maybe it is time for another news station that gives conservative news.
At least Bill O' got the message tonight. He declined to mention Martha and that was a relief.
"Fox used to be different from the knee-jerk liberal alphabet-soup network news, but they have slipped into the airhead-mode of endless, breathless headlines and crawlers about stuff the average person could not care less about."
I agree.
We have paid extra for a package (unsure if we still do) to get Fox News.
For the last 6 months or longer it's turned into entertainment/court tv.
Endless Scott Peterson/Michael Jackson/Martha Stewart stories.
Why?
IF THEY REALLY ARE STILL A NEWS CHANNEL and they really don't
have enough people to scout out the news; they they should hire
someone who can read FreeRepublic.com, watch CSPAN and scan
the internet for foreign and domestic news.
I really shouldn't go into this one, but it irritates me to no end.
USE THE ALERT TONE FOR EMERGENCIES. Michael Jackson entering
court or Martha Stewart leaving prison ARE NOT alert tone emergencies.
When 6,000 people have to evacuate due to a potential chemical hazard;
PLEASE DO use that alert tone.
When someone from the FBI's most wanted list or seeking information list is spotted PLEASE DO use that alert tone.
Frankly, I'm for honesty. If Fox News wants to rename themselves THE ENTERTAINMENT COURT TV; please just do it.
End of late night/early morning rant.
Thanks backhoe.
And their 'breaking news' alerts, one can only put it on so so many times until it is not 'breaking' anymore.
When the Clintons were up to something or wanted an issue to die down, this seemed to happen all over the MSM.
I didn't care if OJ did it, I wanted some news, just give me the verdict when the foreman reads it.
If it were just the other MSM outlets, I'd suspect Dubya was getting some really good results somewhere and the MSM was filling the airtime with marketable drivel.
But with Fox in on it too?
Maybe they have forgotten that they built their ratings on NOT being just like NBC/CBS/ABC/CNN.
I dunno. Every time I break wind....
What about Heather Nauert and Patti Ann Browne?
I have never understood why the Right has given Fox News such credence. It's sorry tabloid trash.
Who needs sound bites, idiotic whooshing noises, crap that crawls or floats all over the screen, screaming electric guitar "music" reminiscent of Top Gun, and commercial interruptions every 6 minutes? I can get pretty much all that from video games or popups.
Mature adults with attention spans don't need Fox.
I hear you..my husband said the same thing, but then I told him-thank God that the most pressing thing is this mind numbing crap, and not some attack on us.
you are right, I forgot. I have brought shame upon my family...

She was breezy and soooo attractive!
I've thought FNC has done a good job of keeping away from Whacko Jacko overload. Much better than some other networks.
And there's no moronic News Alerts whenever Robert Blake passes wind.
the last I saw of her she was on nbc/msnbc.
I actually think they've been covering some pretty important items recently. Sure there's some talk on Martha, but like it or not, its news right now. But other than that I've seen them covering Clinton's return to the hospital, Bush's comments on Lebanon and the Hezbollah protest in Syria. Looks good to me, sorry I can't agree with you on this.
Yes today has been some what better.
Did you watch yesterday?
Everyone to their own opinion.
Good Luck
There's a reason it's called "TV news", the TV comes first. That which makes the ratings climb is good, these latest changes have made the ratings climb (only of the 24/7 to gain during February), that makes them good. This is of course why I watch very little to no TV news, since I know the TV comes first if I'm gonna watch TV I watch TV, not TV pretending to be something else.
I agree and it's all part of what I call the "cable
disease". Greta's program is little more than tabloid
TV. The typical "news" item has a split-screen with the
two guests and moderator interrupting, cross-talking,
and spouting memorized talking points. Salacious or
sensational material is repeated ad nauseum. The FOX
"news alert" sign appears for things trivial as well as
for things important. O'Reilly also has the same failings
but he prefers to give his own diatribes and speeches
posed as questions - seldom giving a guest the opportunity
to complete a sentence. FOX also employs such mountebanks
and frauds as Geraldo. As bad as it is, it's still better
than it's competitors. I just watch LESS and less of
it ALL.
If you're under the age of 40 you haven't been able to use TV to learn the real news in your lifetime. By the mid-60s the entertainment people and the biased people had taken over the TV news industry, the human interest story had become a nightly feature and Kronkite was set on destroying American support for Viet Nam, everything since then has been varying degrees of infotainment, and in that regard Fox is no different than any of the competitors. Never forget that the entire script of a half hour news show would fit on the first page of a newspaper.
