We have talked about Terri Schiavo quite a bit here. Almost all of us who post to FR are of the same mind -- that her feeding tube should not be removed, that she should be cared for, and that everything possible should be done to rehabilitate her.
The talk is useful. It is good for us to compare notes and to get our facts right.
We are, however, preaching to the choir in doing this.
It is time for us to act. Publicly and visibly. We each need to actively do whatever we can do. Posting here will gain us no more ground. We need to talk outside here, write letters, send emails, make phone calls, demonstrate, talk to our neighbors, and do other things. Whatever we can do.
This needs to be done now. Now as in NOW. Terri’s time on Earth is running out.
Posting here is not enough. It is time to rattle the cage. A big rattle. Loud enough that it will get heard.

I agree with you totally. I havent posted much on this board, but Terri's case is very dear to my heart. Being a Floridian (east coast) last week, I wrote to my congressional representatives to help pass the bill put forth by Representative Dave Weldon, M.D. (R-Fl-15) that would give the Schindler family access to a federal court to argue for the life of their daughter, Terri Schindler-Schiavo.That bill is going before congress tomorrow. (the last half of that sentence was quoted from Terri's Fight.Org.) This bill will be put before them tomorrow as far as Iknow. I also wrote to Gov. Bush to intervene in Terri's behalf once more. You can access your representatives from Terri's Fight. Org and write your own congress person. Everyone that writes will help Terri.
I think you could have put this topic in Activism.

Agree. I have been sending stuff to our local newspaper editor. They printed not one but TWO editorials in support of letting Michael Schiavo starve Terri to death - only of course they cloud the issue with fancy spin. I had a letter to the editor printed for which I am grateful. If we all do a little, it will amount to a lot!

Copy the post and send it to as many people as on your address book. Ask them to forward it. Ask them to email to the links. It is short. It is simple. It gets Terri's name spoken by millions to the people who can move something.

Yes, all of us should do something and keep in doing even if we are not living in Florida and can do relatively little. I've been sending e-mails to politicians and people in the media. Several of them, including those to Nancy Grace on the cnn.com site, have been returned as undeliverable.
