I've also been thinking about the two Camillus "Sierras", and am beginning to question the necessity of offering the small (they call it "medium") size. Here's the photo again, along with a Ka-Bar Dozier:
The smaller Camillus is smaller than the Ka-Bar, which I consider about the ideal size to pocket carry. The small Camillus is almost a key-chain knife. I don't think there's a GI that needs anything that small.
On the other hand, the big Camillus still fits in a BDU pocket, and is big enough to take on some chores out in the field, too. It's not a "fighting knife", but is a whole lot more scarey than the little one.
I'm now thinking we should go exclusively with the bigger Camillus. That opportunity wasn't available with the CRKT or Ka-Bar, but is now. Plus, I'm hoping Camillus will continue to be a stand-up company, and give us a deal on them.
