Stormhand's family update.
The bathroom is painted. Whew! I was puttin' textured paint over textured paint and it worked best to use a brush. Took a lot longer than it should have. Letting it dry until tomorrow before I put hardware back up just in case [shudder] it needs another coat.
Luke is better. He finally threw up. As I suspected he was sick on candy. Even tho his tummy hurt yesterday and he didn't want to eat, he apparently kept eating candy. He finally threw up. It was all chocolate. We saved it in little baggies fer next Halloween...
Nana's recovery ~sounds like~ it's gonna be a lot slower this time. She didn't injure her arm in the fall. Apparently it was an effusion with the IV (is that the right word 2J?). Basically the IV was backed up in her arm and the ID bracelet was acting like a tourniquet.
What's bad is that the nurses didn't do anything about it last night. They ignored it until the doctor came in this morning. Um...yes...the Mrs. made a few calls.
OT - welfare rodents got my suet fer the birds again...
ROTFL!
I have good news! I got my nerve up and asked the professor and he's agreed to be my advisor! We're going to talk tomorrow about what possible areas of research I might want to be in.
Whew! I'm so relieved, and happy. I was scared he'd say no and I'd have to go with the UML researcher professor, booooring.
Dang, sorry tree-rats!
LSA, OB...got to watch Dr. Z's birdfeeder yesterday. How come he didn't get any bushy-tailed gray "birds?"
Her IV infiltrated. Came out of the vein and started pumping into the surrounding tissue. This can be not that big a deal (long-term wise, I mean...it is uncomfortable) or it can be a devastating thing, depending on what was being infused. Saline will just absorb right into the tissue and go away in time. D5W (sugar water) will too, but not as readily...if it's chemo, you can loose your arm...which is why chemo generally goes through a central line. (Right into a main vein in the neck or threaded way up the arm.
Whatta Dad!
Hope there will be no ill effects from the IV thing with Nana.
Glad to hear the painting went well.
Maybe you can get with Sam Cree the next time he is up there and he'll do a mural for you.:-)
Great idea on the Halloween candy.
Heh...
