Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
And take the hidden paths that run...
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
|
|
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
|
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

I had no idea.
Kin I go home yet? It's quiet and all I'm doin' is lookin' at fountain pens. Mmmm...pens...
Need to do more packing. I'm almost done, which means the house looks worse than it ever has - pretty much everything is out of the cabinets and closets and I'm putting it into boxes, but most of it is out on the livingroom floor and all over the chairs and shelves.

Yeah but offering 25% lower is probably a bit much.

I'm also looking at my calendar and realizing...I dunno when we can meet! Weekends are awfully tight for a bit. This weekend...is right before closing, so except for a bit of time Sunday, I'm gonna be busy; next weekend (one day of the weekend) I'm goin' to Montreal, the weekend after that is Easter, and the weekend after that is my last one.
I'd still like to do SOMEthing...but I have no clue where to squish it in.

Wanted to give you a little update...
Matthew was studying his spelling and one of his spelling words was "serious". The teacher said it came from the Latin word "Sincer-us". Matthew said "It's pronounced "sincer-oos"." I asked him "Have you already learned this word?" He said "No, I just know it's pronounced that way, and it's the 2nd declension masculine."
I was completely floored.
I hope he's right, I have no idea! LOL!!

Haha!
Empress probably knows. She remembers more of the Latin we had than I do. Sounds right. Got to love the things smart kids will spring on ya :D

Heh! I told him how tickled I was that he knew something I didn't...that made him pretty proud. Then I reminded him that had his teacher been real (she's a video tape), it would not be his place to correct her. It's ok to discreetly mention something to mom, but he's gotta know it's not his place to correct adults.

Ack! We're on the way to Latin and his SHORTS DON'T FIT! He's grown out of them!
How did that happen??? In just a few day????

If he IS right...that's almost a little scary! ;-)
Home...told 'em I'd probably not be in tomorrow since I really want to FINISH packing! Finally! Then Saturday I can do the moving (except for a very few things - someone's coming for the desk on Sunday, for instance) and be DONE with all this!

Weather hasn't been that extreme - it was 70 yesterday, 40 now - but I'd like it to decide to be either winter or spring.

Yes, but you're moving to where the weather is more reasonable. Even if it is overcast today.
