Steve came home early last night...spent some time with me working on the Bug. I ordered Chinese and we ate it in the shop. Spicy Garlic chicken...Joshua loved it!
Steve decided he was going to take the pedal assembly off...clutch, brake and accelerator are on one assembly
He hit something on the gas pedal and the pedal broke right off...oopsie daisy!
The whole floor is rusted out and I imagine it wasn't sturdy enough to keep if it just broke off like that.
I guess you'll be needing a new one of those ;~D
LOL! Yep.
Thankfully, they still make 'em.
I gotta feeling "You'll be needing a new one of those." is gonna be something we frequently say! LOL What can we expect...the car's been in a field for at least 10 years! I'm surprised it is in as good a shape as it is.
Yikes! LOL
Still, wouldn't that be a cool car restored? Have to have big bucks to do it, but I am sure there are people out there who would love to get their hands on that!
I had a friend whose dad re-did an old car like that. I knew her for years and saw it go from pieces to driving. It was exciting, if though I never thought I'd be interested in doing something like that!
I think that's how the neighbors are...mildly curious and interested to see how our work is progressing. They can't seem to help it, they just stop by and visit! People we don't really know!
Young man on a skate board, I think I've told you about him? He wears black chuck taylors...anyway, he was going by off to whereever it is he skate boards and says "Hey! Cool dune buggy! He visited with us quite a bit once. Got his hair cut, it's not down to his shoulders anymore...just a regular short haircut.
I like this part of it.
Well, thankfully, 2J's Beetle looks a little better than that!
I'm glad you're having a good time with it... we all know you need a hobby of some kind to be at your best!
The floor pans look worse than that! Heh heh...like sponge.
Yep.
:-D
I wish I could sit here and chat about old junk cars all morning (and Lord knows, I could do it), but I gotta get some kind of breakfast for the boys and start school. I'll see you all later!
Morning everyone. ~sip~
Good morning! Margaret's last day in Fort Collins - tomorrow we fly to Tacoma. We briefly mentioned maybe going out for breakfast, but I don't have the heart to wake everyone up. Hope I don't get scolded. ;-)
We'll likely go on at least a quick hike today. It's supposed to be clear and beautiful and near 60. Just lovely! Hope tomorrow is as nice.
I can't wait to see Stephen and Dad and the rest of the gang again! And more Hobbit Holers, too! Odd to think that my baby brother is soon to be a husband, though. It's gonna be awhile before I can wrap my mind around that.
Happy birthday, LCS! Hope things are going a bit better for you than they were when you last checked in. You're in my prayers!
Thanks for being the Keeper 'o Birthdays, Ruthy!
hehehe...
It's my handy-dandy desk calendar that keeps me from forgetting. If I ever miss anyone, it's only because I haven't written it down yet. ;-)
Oh, a car with no gas pedal's not much good, is it?
Morning all. Lovely warm sunny day ahead of us today.
Many Blessings on your Birthday!!
Not unless it's one of these.
Yabba dabba doo!!
Lovely warm day indeed!
Margaret and I are off to go on a quick hike. Hopefully we survive that long...eek! If all goes well, we'll be back by mid-afternoon. I've got my phone...
Have fun! I'm stuck inside until four...
