BTW, the uncle that passed away is the grandfather of my cousin we sent the knife/packages to in Iraq.
Josh was ~supposed~ to come home in March. I'll see his dad and find out for sure tomorrow.
Uncle is receiving a full military funeral, although the attending unit is the VFW. He was in the Pacific during WWII. Navy, I think. Used to bug the snot out my aunt that he never wanted to take her to Hawaii.
(((Corin)))
I'm sorry to hear about your uncle. Prayers going your way as always.
Thanks Sweetie. He was 86. He had a good life.
I hope it's a nice service...
How healthy is your aunt? How will she fare alone now?
Heh... hope the funeral trip and all go smoothly. Will this get you out of any meetings?
Morning... getting a slow start, but then it is Monday.
We can all hope for so much.
We aren't flying until Wednesday - I think all delays should be worked out by then.
Only two days! I can't wait to see my family again (the rest of the family, I mean), but this little near-vacation has been a wonderful thing. I'm not yet SERIOUSLY stressed about not having a job, and everything is new and exciting.
Heh...I think I left my scale at home. I'm almost glad.
Except that I hafta put on that dress in a couple of days. *sigh* I'll be glad when the ceremony is over...a sentiment I'm sure a few folks are sharing with me...
For the most part, for a woman in her 80s, she does quite well. No major issues. But she's beginning to show the same signs of dementia that we saw with two of her sisters and with my grandfather. It's not ~quite~ Alzheimers, but similar. On a good day, she'll recognize me. On a not so good day, she'll talk to me like I'm my dad. ;-)
Still, I think she'll be okay for a while. The last 4-5 years she's been mostly inside caring for my uncle. So this should give her the opportunity to be out more. She can start back to church, etc.
I got your corset ;~D
LOL! I've done that. Unforgettable, ain't it?
Happy birthday!
Goody...
I hope she does well as she can.
That's written just for us!
Happy Birthday! Will you be carrying out the hobbitish tradition of giving other people presents on your birthday?
As long as I can get away with just giving some of my old mathoms that are collecting dust here!
Thanks! ecurbh and I are getting a horse trailer for our birthdays, and that will make for our best summer ever when we can get out on the trails!
