Home is behind, the world ahead, |
That's good news!
We made it, but the trip home was a bit...interesting. All the streetnames are covered by snow, and we got completely turned around. Took us a long time to find the main road again, but after that we were mostly OK, albeit still annoying local drivers because we were slowing down at every intersection trying to determine street names by the length of the sign...
Good to be back!
Seems like a pretty nice parish. Lots of young families and babies and groups of what I assume are college students all coming together. FAR more younger people than back home, which is probably partly just due to it being a bigger parish and partly because Fort Collins is younger in general.
Thanks. Both Jeanne and I were pronouncing it wrong, albeit differently :-)
I met Steve in a bar, wouldn't you figure? Me being Baptist and all. Heh heh...it was a restaurant/bar...to be perfectly honest. And I was with my Sunday school class...although he wasn't. The seat just happened to open up beside him, when his ex-girlfriend (who was in my Sunday school class and invited him only to show off her new boyfriend) got up and left.
You just never know what paths life will take you on!
I don't believe they have a singles group per se, but they do have singles events...this Friday, for example, there's a barbecue. They say it's meant for college students or college age singles, but I'm assuming this being a big place, that includes grad students and therefore folks into their late twenties / early thirties? I won't be here for it anyway, but if there's another I might could go.
Sounds good to me!
You're welcome!
I'm off! Gonna try to get the kitchen cleaned up at least before Steve gets home. See you all later!
Someone ought do some photoshop wizardry and replace the Morton salt girl (when it rains, it pours) with a dwarf.
I just got in from the garden. I usually try to do quiet activities on the Sabbath but it's just so beautiful outside that I had to go work some soil. I hummed hymns to make it kosher. I'm now more sunburned than I was before and my muskles seriesly hurt. Paralysis will set in tomorrow morning.
Bah. Bah. It looks like January here. No sympathy for your sunburn at all.
(But make sure you take something for those sore muscles!)
You can get sunburned with snow on the ground.....
Visibility has increased a bit now. Before you couldn't see twenty feet in front. And too much clothing is required, to get any sort of sun through.
God Bless your family, Corin. Sounds like your Uncle was ready and waiting.
Great news on the wheels. It's good that you're making connections like this. It will save you a bunch of money in the long run!
Nah, not really. This really didn't happen to ~me~. I'm just a part of the overall fabric. Funeral will be Wednesday. I'll go down on Tuesday. Wife and the boys aren't gonna go. Just too complicated with Nana, and the wife's schedule. Plus, it wouldn't be an excused absence for Jr. and he just don't need to give 'em any more reasons fer lowerin' his grades.
I hummed hymns to make it kosher.
heh...
I just spent two hours in the garage sorting stuff for the yard sale on Saturday. Jr. and I have a space at the pool yard sale. He gets half the proceeds to go towards his Brazil trip. Tomorrow night, we're gonna get some things out of ~the attic~.
Wife's gone to visit Nana and then to pick up Jr. from youth choir rehearsal. I may get out and play in the dirt a bit when they get back.
My azaleas are gonna bloom this week.
I want to put in an azalea bush but I can't decide where.
I gues you've got hummingbirds already.
Tomorrow it's sunny and warmer, it'll be seventy by Wednesday. But today we're getting hammered.
I haven't seen any yet. Don't have their feeder out yet tho.
Well, you finally got your winter, just in a different place! ;o)
Vey nice, but where are the curlicues?
