Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
And take the hidden paths that run...
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
|
|
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
|
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

Did he take it ok? Not too much fuss?

She couldn't ever keep straight which foot was lame though. ;~D

Well... poetry is a sort of virtual pottery. Shape a new vessel and keep an idea in it. :-)

I love those new creams now. They are drippy instead of solid, which is perfect for doggy and kitty ears. Gets way in there and you can feel it all smushy in the ear cavity.
Maybe if his ears aren't hurting, he won't put up such a fuss. Maybe? *hopeful smile*

He's still too drunk to fight much, but he cried.
I am telling you, this dog carries around more sadness than any dog should. He can be gregarious, but he can also be really mournful.
To: Ramius
Wonderful thought, thanks.

hehehehe....
Bet she thought it was a real good trick too.

You simply have to give him so many good memories that they eventually crowd out the bad ones.

That *was* funny...
But never in my life have I met a dog with her vocabulary. She could even spell.
But she was a sucker for "goin' to the vets to get tutored".

*sigh*... breaks my heart, and I'm not even there to see him...

My favorite Shakespeare play, bar none. I like the witty repartee and the deeply developed characters. Even if Hero and Claudio are the more pathetic couple in Shakespeare. Probably it wasn't fair to stick them next to dynamic personalities like Beatrice and Benedick.

She was one of a kind.... Yes, smart, but not in any way we could actually use! Her mind only served Zulu. ;~D
They're all one of a kind. Who'd have predicted Gidget.... or Homer.

Heh... well, I'm gonna go hit the couch too, we're all tired :~D
Good night everyone!

this dog carries around more sadness than any dog should. I think abandonment would be about the worst thing to do to a dog, especially when they *know* they were left behind. Dogs give unconditional loyalty. To have it refused must just crush their whole world.

You should have seen the look he gave me when I handed the leash to the vet!
I'm gonna go sit with him.

I'm right behind you, chica. It's already 10 o'clock here and I need to grab a shower.
No need to go out and get milk tonight, thank goodness. :-D
Good night everyone! Sorry to bail out on ya!

The two men I admire most...my dad lasted five years from onset to end, and Ronald Reagan took ten.
On the other hand, Steve Allen went to take a nap after playing with the grandkid(s). Long nap.
All things considered, I'd rather go out like Mr. Allen.
