The Hobbit Hole XX - And take the hidden paths that run...
The Freeper Hobbit Hole ^

Posted on 03/05/2005 11:51:13 AM PST by HairOfTheDog

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

And take the hidden paths that run...

New verse:

Upon the hearth the fire is red,
Beneath the roof there is a bed;
But not yet weary are our feet,
Still round the corner we may meet
A sudden tree or standing stone
That none have seen but we alone.
Tree and flower and leaf and grass,
Let them pass! Let them pass!
Hill and water under sky,
Pass them by! Pass them by!

Still round the corner there may wait
A new road or a secret gate,
And though we pass them by today,
Tomorrow we may come this way
And take the hidden paths that run
Towards the Moon or to the Sun.
Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe,
Let them go! Let them go!
Sand and stone and pool and dell,
Fare you well! Fare you well!

Home is behind, the world ahead,
And there are many paths to tread
Through shadows to the edge of night,
Until the stars are all alight.
Then world behind and home ahead,
We’ll wander back to home and bed.
Mist and twilight, cloud and shade,
Away shall fade! Away shall fade!
Fire and lamp, and meat and bread,
And then to bed! And then to bed!

Mmmm! Impact wrench!

I became familiar with one of those (I think that's what it was) yesterday. Quite thrilling! Got pics of course, but will not be loading them onto the blog till tomorrow.

I lost my bid on the two books I wanted from ebay and my ISP is giving me grief and I can't access ebay to bid again. I might make it to the library in time in the morning.

Been a GREAT weekend. Got a lot of stuff done on the Bug. Alas, the house is disaster!

It was a Mass of Resurrection. For Communion we say "Yahweh, (I Know You Are Here), which is one of my very favorites. The final song was the rousing "Lord of the Dance". Very appropriate.

Evening Rosie - when you read this you will likely be in "Colorful Colorado".
We hope that journey was 'uneventful' and you were 'not delayed'.

Is that weird, to feel almost fresh loss now - 13 years later?

Not at all, Sam. You love life, and you wish he could have had what you have.

Evening Corin - regarding the cannas, you can plant them as soon as there is no danger of any frost.

Evening g'nad - been doing a bunch of dirt therapy today. Got up to 82 here. Dang that felt good.

re; getting off the blades, good luck. Did you ever consider sharpening the blades on the mower with an angle grinder? Or is it replacement time?

Thanks, g'nad. He was truly a Blessed man, and we're praying for the Holy Spirit to guide the Cardinals in their choice.

Thought about you yesterday. SSQ and I drove down to CT to pick up the Concrete Mixer he'd bought on e-bay. It's HUGH! We're looking forward to cooking up some concrete soon! The guy from whom we bought it had all kinds of tractors and equipment in his yard. Made me think of you and your farm.

Our new little trailer got it's first workout hauling the mixer. We call it Bill the Pony. ;o)

I'm in the shop! Steve has the boys at church...he takes them to choir on Sunday evenings.

I just finishing waxing half the Bug! I can't wait to update the blog! There is so much to tell! It'll have to wait till tomorrow though, because I can't access my blog, or ebay, or anything! I don't have any trouble with FR or The Samba or fetching my email, but not any of my computers will load my blog or ebay.

ARGH!

I'm logging off, though...church is almost over and I still haven't cleaned up from dinner.
