Heh, that's for sure.
Rose and I are off to the movies. Going to see Sin City. Will report back later with a review, most likely.

Nobody I'd rather be chatty with than you-all!
I meant to ask, seeing as this week I have finally acquired my advisor and more or less decided on a thesis area, if not a topic, how No. 2 Son is doing. Will he be coming home over the summer or staying on like me?

Evening 300WM: Thank you for posting the picture, we can fabricate that from useful things laying around the house...:-)
Our biggest trouble makers are the grackles. Nasty birds, doubtless in the employ of Saruman.

Actually, I was the one talking about the welfare rodents eatin' the suet.
I'm gonna try the cayenne pepper. I think Suzi's right. I oughta stick.
And I'm gonna wire the thing shut.

Will report back later with a review, most likely.I'll be anxious to hear your views on the movie. I'm thinking of taking Clare and Joseph to see it this weekend.

David is staying at UT over the summer, though I think he'll come home for a week or two. I don't know if he's chosen an advisor yet. He's been working hard, but he's enjoying it.

Oy.
Mary Poppins.
Possibly karmic retribution for my playing Gladiator the other night.
First time since 1988, and I remember why.
See y'all on the morrow.

I got this very nice freepmail from DonnerT, who said I could share it with you folks here.
Wes's unit returned last month. He came to see us yeaterday while all the other students who visit us each thursday were here.
He had a letter in one hand, an almost tearfully embarrassed smile on his face and a sheathed knife in the other. We met in the middle of the room and embraced, laughing pounding each others backs. He said "Mr. Don did you do this?" I told him it was from a bunch of great people on the internet who appreciate what he has been doing. He said he felt like he didn't deserve it, because he only went to Germany, but he sure did appreciate it.
He told us about getting the surprise package at mail call with his unit after coming back from a school. To say he was surprised would be an understatement. When he showed it to me I was somewhat surprised too. I had thought it would only be a folding knife. When I get our tax rebate I will be sending you another check.
Thank you and all the Hobbit Holers for letting me be a part of demonstrating to this young man how much we appreciate him.
