Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
And take the hidden paths that run...
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
|
|
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
|
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

It's going to be a lovely, lovely weekend here. And light on homework. I've really got to figure a way not to squander it.

So basically now...
The Watcher in the Water made a smart-@$$ comment at Rosie's meeting this morning. But the doors have caved in and she's no choice but to drive Van-sama thru the Mines of Moria...
IOW, there's no turning back.
Wooo Hooo!

Woo-hoo indeed! I await her in Lothlorien with lembas and, erm.. cloaks... metaphor breaking down quickly.
All right. Time to meet with advisor, then meet with professor in another class, then go to the afternoon seminar, and then finally home. See you all in a few hours.

... metaphor breaking down quickly. Heh...why do you think I stopped where I did?
Gotta go. Gonna meet Mrs. and Luke at Nana's hospital and we're going out to get dinner somewhere Jr. doesn't like (Luke will try anything). Jr's off at a friend's birthday party getting beat up with paintballs.
Later.

I like the logo on the back idea, 300. It looks really cool that way, IMHO!I just heard back from Camillus. They can put the Hobbit Hole logo on the front of the knife for an extra 60 cents each, replacing the "Sierra" logo. The only problem is that it has to be in lots of 100 knives. While this would save us $500 per hundred (and save me lots of running around), it means dropping about $1800 on Camillus all at once. I'm afraid we just can't take them up on their very nice offer.

Well good for you! Do you get a lollipop when you're done or is that just for kids with your doc?
With me I always think I am going to wake up to smelling salts.
To: HairOfTheDog
Heh...no lollipop. He usually gives one to the boys but he forgot this time.
Tetanus shots always ache so bad...

Yeah - and not just us... the last time Bay got one in the neck he was so sore he couldn't put his head down to eat that night.
I don't know where on the horse would be better than the neck.. they need all their other large muscles too.

Steve just emailed me. He's coming home. I'm tired and gonna lay down on the couch till he gets in.
It's the weekend, you know what that means. Expect me when you see me.

re the axle nut... a resource I just read indicates it's just on there extra tight. Very extra tight. The author suggests seriously that the amateur should take the car to a tire store and have them take it off with an impact wrench, and then put it on tight enough to get it home but loose enough that you can get it with home tools. Obviously that's impractical in your situation, but does suggest that once off, when you're finished, you might run it by someone with a torque wrench of sufficient size to put the right amount of torque on it.

I think you're the one who asked about my suet feeder mods. Well, here it is. It's not very high tech, but it keeps the larger "trash birds" away. And the squirrel collar works fine, as long as it's up high enough to keep the squirrels from jumping past it.
