Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
And take the hidden paths that run...
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
|
|
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
|
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

I think he feeds the birds safflower seeds. Squirrels don't eat 'em, which is why my post feeder is exclusively for safflower seeds. LSA

I think he feeds the birds safflower seeds. Squirrels don't eat 'em, which is why my post feeder is exclusively for safflower seeds. LSAAnother effective squirrel deterrent (other than gunfire) is a cayenne-pepper powder that is mixed into the seed. Birds can't smell or taste it, but squirrels can. And so can I. Nasty stuff.
I put a hugh pile of seed treated with this stuff on the ground for the squirrels. The first squirrel took one whiff, and jumped backwards about three feet. The squirrels backed away from the seed as if it was radioactive, but the birds skarfed it down as usual.

Evening!
Had my 1-month review today. They seem to like me OK. I'm still employed, at least. ;~D

Hah! Does that really work? Its amazing that it doesn't affect the birds.
My Dad has problems with the squirrels making off with the suet blocks. He started wiring them up inside little bait cages (from the crab pots) but then he caught one of the squirrels working the wire hanger trying to take it off the little hook. Smart little devils.

Hey... that's great. I had my review last week. It went fine. Got da bonus. ...and some more stock. (though, the plan is really odd).
I have to admit though that there's part of me that wouldn't mind too much getting fired. Sortof a relief. But then I come to my senses.

Sorry to hear about Mrs. LCS; prayers for her.
To: 300winmag
cool tip, I did not know that. (but LSA did) sigh.
To: Ramius
That is an EXCELLENT idea, just wish I could convince the rest of the project team of that.
To: Corin Stormhands; Sam Cree
Hope there will be no ill effects from the IV thing with Nana.
Glad to hear the painting went well.
Maybe you can get with Sam Cree the next time he is up there and he'll do a mural for you.:-)
Great idea on the Halloween candy.
To: osagebowman
But that's the cool part of just "decree'n". No convincin' necessary. :-)

Evening all...time for a Kid Break.
This one's related.

There are four more in his subset of the gene pool, but this one's my favorite. Of course, no one else knew that until just now.

Her IV infiltrated. So now they're saying it's either gout or pseudo-gout. But she's doing better, with the arm at least, she can move it now.
But, since she can't rely on her arms, they haven't been able to get her up to walk.
~sigh~
