The Hobbit Hole XX - And take the hidden paths that run...

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
And take the hidden paths that run...
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
|
|
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
|
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

Good mornin. Happy Monday. I'm freaked out stressed out again. *sigh* The data I set to run over the weekend didn't finish because some rocket scientist thought it would be a good time to bring the machines down. AAAAAACK!
If y'all would be so kind to keep my family in your prayers this morning I'd appreciate it. As many of you know, my brother just got out of the Navy after 8 years as a 'nuc'. He's had a difficult time finding a job ( sometimes military job skills don't translate into civilian job skills well enough for the HR crowd) and has a big, important interview today. I'm praying that he'll get an offer out of this one.

mmmmmmmmmmm.... disgruntled guv'mint werker rampage.... Amazing how predictable Monday mornings can be.
But the good news is that I'm breathing better than I have in two weeks. And the cough is ~mostly~ gone. I have no explanation other than the air purifier.
Lil' - prayers for your brother.

Well, I don't have any cholesterol medicine but I did take a good dose of Advil, two benadryls for an allergy attack, and went to bed with my knuckles smeared with neosporin, they got all banged up.
I slept like a rock.

That is just wonderful! What kind is it? Where do you keep it? Where you sleep or what? Does it make any noise?
Steve always has such terrible allergies...I wonder if one of these might help him? I thought about getting one of those quiet ones that you just pull out the inside, wipe it clean and put it back.

I can get you the brand name tonite. I used it Saturday and yesterday to "sanitize" the bedrooms. Then I set it up downstairs last night.
It's pretty quiet. And you just take the back out and clean it once a month.
Ill send you more info tonite.

Good morning everyone!
2J - my hands get torn up too, working on outdoor projects. I just can't function in gloves.
Glad you're feeling better Corin!

Mornin',
My home PC is dead, Jim. Won't turn on at all.
It can be one of a million things, but I'm gonna start by purchasing a new power supply. I've already checked all of the cords and the plugs, tested the surge protector, switched the outlets, etc. Nothing.
I'll be offline at home until I can get it fixed. :-(

A week from tomorrow, yep.
Eep! Really soon. Everything seems very far off and very soon at the same time. Four weeks is quite a long time...but it isn't.
