Same reason we never let them watch "The Simpsons". We tried watching it with the older boys when they were in middle school to see what it was all about. Two episodes of it were enough for me, and we didn't let them watch that anymore either. We just can't stand that continual bickering. I frankly think it's one reason why our kids didn't fight with each other all the time. I just flat didn't allow it. They could discuss the matter, but when the tone got ugly discussion was stopped because at that point nothing was going to get solved any way.

I can handle Rugrats okay in the 10 minute doses on TV. And they're always resolved within that time frame.
Sitting through a 2-hour movie was painful.
Speaking of movies of a certain sort...do you know by any chance if the Spongebob movie is out on video?

At least without cable, there's no chance of accidentally running across that show.
