Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
And take the hidden paths that run...
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
|
|
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
|
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

Sounds lovely! I can picture it!
What are you going to do with the pea/beans?
You've been on my mind all day...wondering how you were! Why don't you just drive on down here tomorrow and go with me to Kilkenny Restaurant for my birthday? My favorite irish band is playing and Steve said he'd take me, but he won't enjoy it, you know...

¿Usted ha visto Ruthy? No, have been too busy. Is she missing?
To: 2Jedismom
Well ...this work thing interferes too much with my personal life. :)
Today I finished a bag of lentils and made a dent in a bag of split peas. Made a soup with turkey sausage, carrots, celery, onion, my last potato, chicken stock, and the lentils/peas. Turned out rather tastey.

Just got the chickens put up for the night with fresh water and feed. Just got ourselves fed and settled into our lay-z-boys for an evenin' of sci-fi watchin'.

I'll have to inventory my dried bean collection and hit the recipe books. Problem is that I have at least two of everything. Bought dried beans here before I moved the dried beans from NC.
Guess I should go elfy and make bean salads when the weather turns warm.
To: Corin Stormhands
But you both are usually here on Mondays. It's only Monday!!?????
To: Corin Stormhands
Ok, I shouldn't say this... but I'm bored... I've got a free evening and no one to spend it with, no movies or shows to watch, I'm too unmotivated to research or do homework when nothing's due for ten days, and I don't feel like packing.
I really, really want to write but I have no story...

I don't have a movie... or a cat, but that part will be changed in a few weeks.

Good for you! It has been four hours since my last piece of chocolate....

I've had a hankerin' for salads lately...should put some lettuce seed in the garden. But the chickens keep getting out and would make short work of it. No point till we get the chickens more secure.
We're having pork chops, rice and sliced tomato for supper. I made a big ol' pot of rice, so I can make my rice pudding. Except this time, no raisins...Matthew can't stand the raisins.

Just put some garbanzo beans to soak overnight. Now what do I do with the pintos, black-eyed peas, black beans, white beans, red beans (hey...at least I'm diverse), and the rest of the green split peas.
Unlike Elrond, I've got fiber.
To: Overtaxed
Fiber, who needs it?
I had a sausage, bacon and cheese omelet. Mmm... fat...

Just got an email back from Lcpl Madera:
I received the package your group sent and wanted to thank you.
The knives are great and will be greatly appreciated. Once again THANK YOU
Now finding those DCU coveralls for him is TOUGH.
