New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, |

Still round the corner there may wait |

Home is behind, the world ahead, |
The sun is out, bringing the temp up from Fatal to Merely Miserable.
Cleaning day at the Bachelor's Quarters.
Later I might go to a funeral to raise my spirits (No it ain't that bad).
Might go to a movie if a good one's playing.
It's supposed to get up to 65 by noon and then cool off a bit in the afternoon. I'm waiting for seeds to come up. I could do some work outside but the place needs vacuuming and the semi-finals are this afternoon so I won't be spending as much time outside ast I wanted. Thought at least I'd scrub down the wooden fence so I can prime and paint eventually.
I could go buy some dirt for the raised bed(s) but I'm in Jack Benny mode and don't want to spend anything. :)
Yeah, right! It's still coming down here!
(whinge)
Nine days until (officially) Spring.
Hmmmm.....Miss Kitty is fascinated by that foundation vent.
Good morning everyone! Not sure what's on our agenda today but it is going to be nice out. ecurbh really wants to go out to breakfast, so we'll be back in a bit.
Uh oh....Miss Cat found a way out of the backyard fence.
Hullo!
Well, NOW it's snowing hard, but it held off a bit! So we did get most stuff done. It's fairly empty here, but I'm realizing I'll likely have to just run through the place with some boxes and sort it AFTER I get out to the house...which will drive Dad insane, but I did a lot ahead of time, so oh well. Have a couple of boxes to take to the Salvation Army, and then I need to get down to serious scrubbing.
I'm thinking there's no bribe in the world that'd get my brothers over here to help with THAT part. *sigh* I'm nervous - I have so little time to finish!
Listening to Bing Crosby singing "Don't Fence Me In". Bizarre. But then, I'm in a weird mood...
Heh...that must be Miss Cat's theme song.
LOL! You're right!
Guess I don't need the extra-fluffy sized cat door after all.
Which way is she goin' out? Through a vent, you said? Or was that just a sniffing inspection?
Tam is running around the house like a maniac...all these big empty rooms are soooo exciting! Also wonderful for solo soccer.
No, not the vent. She was in the front yard when I was putting the houseplants out. Had her head stuck in that hole as far as it would go.
I left the sliding glass door open so she could go out in the back yard if she wanted....she showed up at the front door wanting in. *Sigh*
Afternoon folks.
Been up and out since 5:30-ish this a.m. Pool is doing concessions at a soccer tournament to raise money. Didn't get up above 30 until around noon. I'm almost thawed. Fortunately Jr. had to be at the school at 1:30 to leave for a band festival, so I got to leave at 1:00. Wife is still workin' consignment sale.
I need a nap, but wife's sister and husband are comin' over tonite for dinner. Nana needs company...and fiber...
Sent you flight details in FReepmail. Lemme know what you think.
Mmmmm.... fiber.
I'm hoping to pack up some of the loose stuff today. Need boxes, though. I've got a lot of crap but it's not going too far...
Yeah, in your case you can probably just get a few boxes, fill 'em, run 'em down and dump 'em, and reuse them.
I'm really going to miss our little grocery store! That's where I've been getting my boxes. They have them stacked in a corner for whoever wants them. And most of the clerks at least know me by sight. It doesn't have the variety of a bigger place, but it's easy to find stuff and it's nice and friendly.
Feeling less panicked than I did a few hours ago. I have a lot of cleaning yet to do...but I can do this. Especially if I don't do ALL the sorting here. Like I said...that won't make Dad very happy, but it's not like I've been living at home most of my adult life!
For less than three weeks, they can put up with you.
What I need to do is see what sort of trash I've got that I can take out. And it's a nice day - until the cold front comes in and we get snow - so I'm hoping to take a walk this afternoon, too.
