Schadenfreude
N/A
Posted on 03/03/2005 10:23:50 AM PST by Right Wing It
I was unaware up until this point that there was a German word meaning "happiness at the misfortune of others" The Word is "SCHADENFREUDE". What makes it ironic is that it is the only national language in the world to have a word for such a subject. Who else thinks there should be an American word for this?
TOPICS: Humor
KEYWORDS: abusemeplease; child; dangimbored; growathickerskinpal; hehatescheese; iamthewanderer; kittenkiller; schadenfreude; sheestenfinster; soontobebanned; stupidvanity; uneducatedkid

And now we return from our hijacking to something completely silly:
If you were previously unaware of the word "Schadenfreude," how would you know whether equivalents existed in other languages?

L'amour was dull. I'm speechless. To the extent it crossed my mind, I figured you and LE were quite a vibrant couple.
