Prostitution: one adult pays another adult for sex- is illegal
Pornography: Where one adult pays two adults to have sex and brings a camera, This is legal.
Pornography has been around for over one hundred years, since the time of the camera,
but it has only been the last few decades where it became the money making industry that it is today. And today's pornography is much much worse.
This question came to me after reading this article
http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1353029/posts
an excerpt "The Justice Department is appealing the dismissal of an obscenity case in Pittsburgh in which a federal judge said prosecutors went too far in trying to block the sale of pornographic movies over the Internet and through the mail. The case initially was prosecuted under Ashcroft""
Should pornography be illegal?
It's an opinion question, you answer, give your reasons. Is it free speech or not? Why. And where is the line drawn? Has pornography promoted homosexuality and unsafe sex? Or is it a privacy issue?
Should there be standards on pornography?
Concerned Women for America say No- what do you think?
You can't legislate thought. If you make the claim that watching it will drive someone to committ violent crimes then someone else will make the claim about reading Macbeth. Eventuall you'll have nothing. I'd rather have everything then nothing.
Not silly enough to prevent you from clicking onto her thread and posting.
Agreed...this one needs to take a heavier load of classes...
Therein lies the prob. I see it as porn, but you and the definition you are using does not. That's why it shouldn't be up to the Fed Guv, too much potential for abuse or chaotic legislation. It is up to each of us to decide "how much" and steer our children away from it.
I mean,DUmba$$es think Rush Limbaugh is pron.
Sounds good. :)
"ART" ? There is ancient Egyptian porn, with drawn sexual encounters, supposed to titillate,as well as written erotica/porn. And there always have been LIVE sex shows. Do you really think that photographic stills, are the ONLY thing that is pornography?
FR isn't some dorm room where BS sessions go on late into the night, over nothing...though that is what you've continually used bit for.
A consensus by the people; reflected in our elected officials.
You've been told to STFU
If that stands unanswered, I will lose faith in humanity.
She's notorious,in her short stay here. I looked in to see her latest bit of juvenallia. LOL
Would not the large amounts of money spent on porn go to show that the people like it?
And get more friends in the REAL world! LOL
Classes? Silly, you know I'm only there to find a husband.
There has to be limits. We cetainly don't want it oozing out during the Superbowl. Some ppl do like porn but as family wo/men they will steer their children away from it.
So will C-SPAN broadcast the House and Senate Committee meetings that review every piece of 'porn' on the Internet and give a stamp of approval or disapproval?
Small correction. Pornography has been around for several thousand years. In fact one of the oldest bits of Egyptian writing that we have is a ummm... instruction book with illustrations.
sodomy? Sodomy is a health risk. We are paying for Sodomy because we pay for AIDs, ect.
It is already against the law to provide such materials to those under the age of 18. Much like gun control more laws will not help.
Sounds like a typical libertarian question to me.
They see no right in wrong compared to most people. Porn, drugs is OK to them and this thread is nothing new or that interesting a question.
I think it just expresses the muck they live in their minds with.
