Just for levity and to give us all a respite from the troubles of the world, I would like to throw out a question. What do you consider to be the greatest non-country driving songs of all time. So far my list contains the following:
Radar Love (In my opinion the absolute best)-Golden Earring; Magic Carpet Ride-Steppenwolf; Riders On The Storm-The Doors; Two Tickets To Paradise-Eddie Money; Born to Be Wild-Steppenwolf; Born To Run-Bruce Springsteen; Paradise by the Dashboard Lights-Meatloaf; Fire-Jimmie Hendrix; Hollywood Nights-Bob Seeger
So what do you think? Let's here your suggestions.

Springsteen? Moby and the Dixie Chicks might as well be on there too.

Thunder Road may be Springsteen, but it is still a good song.

I woulda thought "Ventura Highway" is the best driving song by the band America.

I personally like Love Shack by the B-52s (I think that's who it's by, anyway) because it's fun to seat-dance and steering wheel-pound to that one. Incidentally, the structure outside of Atlanta upon which the song is based recently burned down, making the song all the more poignant! :-)

Depends on how fast you want to get there... A.S.A.P. calls for something like 'Panama' From Van Halen or more contemporary, 'Open Road Song' from Eve 6. Of course there's the ever popular 'I Can't Drive 55' by Sammy Hagar.

"The Boys of Summer" by Don Henley has to be at or near the top of this list.

Interesting enough topic I suppose but today is a FABULOUS day in world events. Syria is getting it arse handed to it by Lebanese people demanding their freedom from baby Assad's Grip.

"Radar Love" is usually the first one I think of, too. I would add "Let It Roll," by BTO; it's got to be way up there. My fave Bob Seger for this is "Katmandu."
