I read here quite a bit but post very little so I doubt if many (or anyone) will recognize me, but I'm concerned about something that the Dummies are up to and don't know exactly where to post this (or if I even should)--
Don't know if anyone's aware, but the Pentagon has put together a TV channel that's intended to keep the people in the military and their families informed--From what I've been able to determine, they're making it available free of charge to any sattelite company willing to carry it--Sounds like a right fine idea to me in order to keep people in touch and help families stay informed about what the troops are doing and, hopefully, help those who are "over there" to feel a little more connected--
Some Bozo over on DU, however, is mustering the forces over there to make a big stink with DishNetwork because they've decided to carry this new station--True to form, they seem determined to undermine the troops and the war effort in general--Gawd, I wish they'd manage to get a life--
Where would be a good and/or appropriate place here to post this information to, hopefully, get some DishNetwork subscribers (of whom I happen to be one) to voice their support of this good program?--I generally ignore the bizarre "urgent requests" over there for everyone to "DU" this or that stupid online poll, but I'd hate to see that bunch of weirdos to have an adverse impact on this--
Any suggestions as to how I can best get the word out?--Thanks bunches--C

It is a worrisome bit of news, but not surprising.
I am sure we will look into it.
hannity?
he loves this stuff....as long as he doesn't think it is from 'the FReepers'....
send it to Drudge, too.
I can't take any of their posts seriously:

In all seriousness, I think Sean is a good Conservative trooper, I think he does a good job getting fence sitters to jump our way with his relentless repetition of the basics. I listen to his show but he isn't thought provoking like Rush is. But Sean is a staunch supporter of our Military and they love him, therefore Sean does us all a great service.
Sean is for beginners :-)
Oh, I don't take them seriously about 99.999% of the time, either--But I do know that they'll do their best to flood DishNetwork with phone calls and e-mails in what will probably be a futile attempt to get them to drop the Pentagon Channel and I'd just like the Dish folks to know, if possible, that there are at **least** as many people who support and even applaud their airing this info for the benefit of those in the military and their families--
And, by the way, thanks to all here who have been so nice to me on this thread--A great example of a classy bunch of folks (no matter **what** Hannity says) and I appreciate it!--C
Think they would mind if we borrowed it .. *L*
That's a very diplomatic take on Hannity. He ain't for me, but I agree wholeheartedly.

bttt --this needs exposure.
A propaganda channel coming out of the Pentagon is a good thing, and any publicity given by DU is equally good...
I like the way you put that.

The Dark Side.
And they wonder why we question their patriotism?

Re: Sean is for beginners.
Thanks for saying that Sean does good work for conservatives. He brings an approach that seems to work for folks who are just developing a political awareness. Longtime Freepers may want more red meat with their talk show hosts. Fine. That does not give them the right to insult and mock him on these threads. Their snide remarks reinforce the idea of keyboard bullies in basements, being the image of a Freeper.
I wonder how many Hannity fans voted for the first time, or voted Republican for the first time, or worked on a campaign for the first time because he was able to explain what we think is important in a way that made sense to them. He is part of the great pendulum swing to the right of our country.

And quite unlike what John McCain is proposing for "mandatory" coverage of "local politics". Just had to throw this into the mix.
