I'm sure today's program will open with a sincere apology for lumping the few "lunatic fringe who eat their own" among the many of intelligent, caring and principled people who contribute to the best forum on the internet.....FreeRepublic.com

When the guy screwed up, he screwed up and call him out on it.
FReeperland is less about Republican talking points than DUmmies think. Hope we keep it that way.
I see you remember the incident as well. I didn't use the name of the thread and the imposter because people wouldn't recognize it unless they were there. Also, I don't think Jim likes us to use the name.
needed to be repeated.
So true............ FR has some of the funniest, most intelligent people in the country. The humor is as great as the information.

John Edwards: The political equivalent of breast implants.
;-)
.......... excellent point!
And there are freepers who have tumbled away -- in reality and in moving on to other areas in life -- whom I miss. Cal, clarity, sneakypete, a+bert, edlinn ... there are many others, equally or more missed many of whose names I remember, and some I don't -- remembering their contributions or persona, but not the name per se. Thanks to them all!
Thank you so very much! You hit the nail on the head! In my opinion, that is Sean's biggest weakness (that and his irritating self-righteousness). And it is a huge problem for conservatives, because as a result of his poor skills, the general public does not get to see and hear the depth of many of our conservative folks.
Before the election he would interview John O'Neill of the Swifties, he never let John talk enough, and at that time in our history, it was very important that John be heard! Sean was constantly more interested in his own thought or his next question than hearing John. Sean is a very poor choice to be listening to if you want to learn what the other person has to say. Sean's poor skills and self-centeredness hurt the cause, if I may use that word.

Have you ever seen Brian Lamb on C-Span's 'Booknotes'? He interviews writers. That guy knows how to do an interview. That is something Sean should try to learn! It would be very helpful to all of us.
(Gee, I hope this wasn't an attack.)
;-)
"he's stupid" --- I could say something here, but I want to be nice. :-)
DON'T YOU KNOW WHO I AM
Not a pretty thing at all.
What do you mean you were turned down at Lucianne's site?
Oh well, I think I'll go put a pancake on my head!
See yah for now, OldFriend.
;-)
"The great majority of FReepers just want Sean to be better prepared and do his homework, and use his media opportunities to do a stronger job for the conservatives. If that constitutes an "attack", I do not think so."
You overlook the fact that many times Hannity is *personally insulted* - that IS an "attack". You yourself say he's stupid down below, and calling some1 self-righteous isn't exactly constructive, either. Don't hand me that Hannity is only constructively criticized as in "please do more homework Sean!" That's nonsense. I haven't been around that long and I've seen plenty.
Have you ever listened to Mark Levin on his radio show?
Would've put this in the other post, but oh well....
As for "self-righteous", I don't agree at all! Hannity seems like a very nice guy, and sometimes irritating in his falling over himself to be humble.
If any1 is self-righteous (and this is not a total attack, just a simple observation ;-) ), it's Rush. The man truly comes off as irritatingly arrogant, including playing that to the hilt (I am all-knowing, you love to listen to me, I am so good at this), indeed. He isn't criticized for "poor interviews" because he doesn't even allow guests on! Is Rush trying to avoid criticism as you all do here, and/or is he really that self-centered? Is it all play-acting? Maybe. He's really good at it, cuz he sounds like an arrogant guy - and it's the tone more than the words!
(Don't get me wrong, I enjoy Rush. But seriously he is the 1 who successfully comes off as being self-important; Hannity just sounds like a regular nice guy. And frankly, I'm pretty good at judging. ;-) )
Yeah, why? I like Levin!
Sometimes I think he's trying to outdo Savage.
Levin is no lightweight in the intellect department, but his talkside manner is over the top.
Sorry, I disagree, I believe it can be very constructive.... if the person can assimilate the suggestion.
Pointing out that someone may come off as self-righteous may be hard to take, but nevertheless it can be true. Let me honestly ask you, have you ever found it harder to listen to a person's argument or point of view when they came off as self-righteous and all-knowing? Yes? There is a natural tendency to pull away from a seemingly arrogant person.
Sean is in the business to influence people over to our side. It is important that he do it well. Being seen as sanctimonious does not help to influence people. In fact it works in the directly opposite way. Imo, we can not afford our "spokesmen" to come off that way........ especially with Hillary hanging around the corner.
Is anything funnier than Sean remarking on his own humility.
