We get tired of him always talking about his book.
We would like him to actually listen to callers instead of being on IM at the same time.
We would like him to do some research on various topics of the day so he can inform the listeners and the occasional caller who has a wrong opinion.
Having people say....you're a great American is a far far cry from folks saying dittos to Rush.
It's downright annoying.
Marty is a great man and rather than leave him till the last minute as a show prop, it would be nice to hear what Marty has to say on various topics.

We all know that virtually anything can get slammed on a board as big as ours. To us it has little impact. Some second assistant to the Third Producer reads one thread with one page of comments claiming the Rush/Sean/Dubya isn't a True-Conservative/Good-Analyst/Border-Protector/Patriot and forms an opinion about content or posters of the site with no real background of the whole history and ebb and flow of the site itself.
Then somebody posts a dumb vanity thread and says, Hey look what Howard Stern, Rush, Sean, or whoever said about US and a whole lot of posters jump in and say, I know You Are, But What am I, or words to that effect. Such threads have little or nothing to do with the site in general or its mission.
We should ignore these off-hand comments for what they are, off-hand comments and concentrate on the real action.

Look, nobody "runs" anybody off Free Republic; they do it to themselves, and then they run to LP or one of the other anti-Freeper sites and SAY they were wronged and run off.
My favorite thing at LP is how they ALL say "Wow, this place is just like FR use to be." Well, anybody that wants to, go look at it. See if you like what you see.
As for "running people off," Jim ALWAYS goes way beyond what most of us would do to give people a lot of rope to hang themselves with.
