My favorite Dick Van Dyke Show was when Dick's boss, Rob Reiner, found out Mary knew he was wearing toupees. It's torture watching the comedy of the toupees. "This toupee is when my hair gets long. This toupee is when I get a haircut. This toupee is when my hair doesn't look good," et cetera.

More importantly, remember the lesson learned about not risking your life just to be seen as "cool". The Fonz was great about reinforcing that message.

I always thought The Fonz was a little hypocritical in that.  Remember when Fonzie went to California and jumped the shark tank wearing water skis to impress Pinky Tuscadero's sister, Leather (Suzi Quatro)?
I idolized Fonzie growing up and used him as a surrogate big brother.  Influenced by that episode, I undertook an adventure that led to horrible consequences.  Things were never quite the same between The Fonz and me after that.

I usually watch Happy Days. But if its an episode that shows Chachi in the credits and the Fonz wearing a black t-shirt, I change it.

Its a give away that its one of those late 70s episodes that sucked.

TRUE STORY:  One of the most amazing "Mutant Abilities" I've ever seen was a girl I went to college with.  She could identify with 100% accuracy every episode of The Brady Bunch within three seconds of the begining.  Now, think about that.  Most of the time, that first three seconds is a shot of the yard, or the living room, or the stairs.  She knew it from the camera angles and the music.  We used to call her over just to preform her stunt for us.  It was the high part of my day.

A short lesson:

Rob Reiner
Carl Reiner

Rob is Carl's son.

I know people who can do that with the old Star Trek.

Yep, we definitely need to give the military more money. It's being spent so wisely.

Yes, and apparently for some of us, that's a twenty-four hour a day, seven day a week concept.

I hear there's a Gidget marathon coming up soon.

"...I know people who can do that with the old Star Trek...."

I plead guilty to that. With a handle like mine,, it would be unnatural to do otherwise. Can do that with most of The Twilight Zone, too. Geesh, I need a life!

"Turn on TVLand and watch Happy Days....term still used today...."

Er, yeah. Since the term started being used in the 1920s, and was still being used in the 70s, it's not really surprising that it's being used another 30 years later.

I confess. I love Three's Company. I have the first three seasons on DVD and I watch it every night on TVLand. I was so sad when I heard that John Ritter had died.

Ritter's physical comedy and timing was as good as any I ever saw. All the girls carried off their parts flawlessly as well. (No, not just THOSE parts!)

Please convey regards and thanks for his service to the Chief, from a former kiddie criuser deck ape (pre Viet Nam).

Three whole seconds? That's too slow.
