Condoleezza for President?
Self | 02.16.05 | Dr. Marten

Posted on 02/16/2005 5:18:27 AM PST by Dr. Marten

I am quite certain that I am not the first individual to give this idea serious thought, so I am hoping that a few of my fellow freepers out there will lend me a few of theirs.

It is almost certain that Hillary will try to make a run for the White House in 2008 and if she does, she is almost certain to pose serious competition to any Republican challenger for obvious reasons.

1. She is a female. Feminists would fall all over themselves to put someone like her in office.

2. Who else do the dems really have at the moment with the prospect of taking their party anywhere?

3. See #1. She is a female, there are many reasons that others would like to see her take the highest office in this land.

In my thinking I see Dr. Rice as our greatest threat to Hillary.

1. Her qualifications are far superior to anything Hitlery has to offer.

2. She is also a female.

3. She is a Black Female, which takes the spotlight off of Hillarys sexual status and it takes it to another level with Dr. Rice being a colored American. This not only provides a role model for women as a whole, but also for black Americans altogether.

Of course, she is a conservative and often times viewed as a "hawk", but with that being said - what do you think?

I hate to say it but, she'd cost us some electoral votes in the Deep South.

I'd vote for the Man in the Moon if it would keep HITLARY the Anti-Christ and Bubba the Pervert OUT of the White House.

She'd have to get out there and fight it out with the big boys. IMO she'd make a more effective VP.

Condi Rice is simply the most qualified person in the United States to become the POTUS in 2008. She has my vote!!! End of story!!!

I don't know about that. You think some (conservative) southerners would vote for Hillary over Dr. Rice? Some undoubtedly would, but enough to swing some states?

The reason I like her is that she is tough, smart and disciplined. She takes care of herself physically and mentally and it shows. She has more balls than 99% of those GOP and RAT panzies up there who always run with their tale in between their legs.

I would vote for her in a heartbeat without reservation.

You think folks in South would vote for Hillary instead?

You think the Blacks in South would vote against Condi?

She's black and pro-choice. I hate to say it, but she doesn't have a prayer to win the Republican nomination.

Some would vote for Hillary. More would stay home. Given the choice between two women -- one of them black -- people will do strange things in the voting booths (if they even show up).

I disagree. The OLD South is not the NEW South. The fact that she is black would be a huge asset...........

" She is a female."

Exactly why she or hitlery will not be elected...and she has NO qualifications for the job. Then you have to remember she is female, and a bureaucrat, and female.

We are not europe, india or Israel.
And she is an unqualified female...

I realize that he is a moderate Republican, however IMO The Republican's best answer to Hillary would be Colin Powell.

1. His 'middle of the road' style is very appealing to many people on the left.

2. He brings international clout and respectability to the table.

3. His credentials as a Commander in Chief are unassailable.

4. There will be a bit of a backlash from the moderate middle of the country afer 8 years of hard right conservatism from Pres. Bush, and people will be looking to move in a different direction (Republicans should be prepared for this)

5. He would have great appeal among minorities and African Americans and will be a great counter to Hillary's appeal to feminists.

6. He simply has more experience.

Of course he would have to decide this is something he wants to do, which doesn't seem likely at the moment but 4 years is a logn time.

You my friend are dead wrong. You have been believing the Democrat spin machine. Problem is, as we say in New York, "S--T happens", and you, as the current Democrat Party, are living in the past, in a great big false bubble. And.....a dreamworld at that. The political world is changing rapidly, and you are in for a big surprise!!! Keep thinking like a sheep Democrat and you'll end up in the same black hole as the current Democrat Party is in, and will stay in for a long time to come.

Even assuming Rice was acceptably conservative on all the issues (which is questionable on some points), I'd still be worried about her as the nominee for the simple reason that she's never run for elective office before. It's not something you learn how to do overnight, unless you have a special gift for it (which I don't think Rice has). All it takes is one mistake or misstep, and you're finished. And running for President is not the place to hone one's campaign skills. Let's have Rice run for some other office to get some campaign experience before seeking higher apsirations like the Presidency.

Now granted, if Rice were to win the nomination, it would mean she ran a decent campaign to win the nomination. Still, that's nothing compared to going against the opposition party. I don't want what would essentially be a rookie campaigner going up against Hillary. That's too risky.

I agree with you, but I just don't see Colin running and I'm glad.
