My wife is working tonight but I don't qualify me as lonely. Every day is Valentines day in our house.

Sorry, but no. Spending it with my wife of 28 yrs. . .what a saint. . .I'd not put up with me if I had a choice.

I find your question very sad. I do hope that you are not lonely today. :0)

Let's put it this way: I'm talking with 2 former ladies of my life some 600 miles away, and we're all keeping ourselves amused, happy, and feeling close. That's just the way Life is sometimes.

I'm waiting on my wife to get home from work...I fixed a nice dinner and since she's on a diet I did not buy candy. I bought a box of sugar-free Klondike bars and decorated them with red and white icing. Obviously we don't have a lot of money but we raised two good kids that are well on their own and we love each other like a couple of kids. now that I'm older I'm glad our house is small. It makes it easier to chase her around the place...and catch her now and again (and again) too I might add.

Welcome To My Life
by (Simple Plan)

Do you ever feel like breaking down?
Do you ever feel out of place?
Like somehow you just don't belong
And no one understands you

Do you ever wanna run away?
Do you lock yourself in your room?
With the radio on turned up so loud
That no one hears you screaming

No you don't know what it's like
When nothing feels alright
You don't know what it's like to be like me

To be hurt
To feel lost
To be left out in the dark
To be kicked
When you're down
To feel like you've been pushed around
To be on the edge of breaking down
And no one's there to save you
No you don't know what it's like

Welcome to my life

Do you wanna be somebody else?
Are you sick of feeling so left out?
Are you desperate to find something more
Before your life is over

Are you stuck inside a world you hate?
Are you sick of everyone around?
With their big fake smiles and stupid lies
While deep inside you're bleeding

No you don't know what it's like
When nothing feels alright
You don't know what it's like to be like me

To be hurt
To feel lost
To be left out in the dark
To be kicked
When you're down
To feel like you've been pushed around
To be on the edge of breaking down
And no one's there to save you
No you don't know what it's like

Welcome to my life

No one ever lied straight to your face
And no one ever stabbed you in the back
You might think I'm happy
But I'm not gonna be ok

Everybody always gave you what you wanted
You never had to work it was always there
You don't know what it's like
What it's like

To be hurt
To feel lost
To be left out in the dark
To be kicked
When you're down
To feel like you've been pushed around
To be on the edge of breaking down
And no one's there to save you
No you don't know what it's like

To be hurt
To feel lost
To be left out in the dark
To be kicked
When you're down
To feel like you've been pushed around
To be on the edge of breaking down
And one's there to save you
No you don't know what it's like

Welcome to my life

Welcome to my life

Welcome to my life

I will be spending tonight alone as I do most weekdays. But I saw my Beyonce/Halle Barry type Doctor girlfriend over the weekend. We live 70 miles apart. I spent many a Valentine's Day deployed while in the Army. Spent 6 of them in prison and most of those with no one to even send a Valentine's Day card to. It is nothing for me really, but I like to spoil my women on that day, when I have one. I gave my girlfriend some nice lingerie in white with little red hearts and took her eat yesterday.

Eleanor Rigby
by The Beatles

Ah, look at all the lonely people
Ah, look at all the lonely people

Eleanor Rigby, picks up the rice
in the church where a wedding has been
Lives in a dream
Waits at the window, wearing the face
that she keeps in a jar by the door
Who is it for

All the lonely people
Where do they all come from?
All the lonely people
Where do they all belong?

Father McKenzie, writing the words
of a sermon that no one will hear
No one comes near
Look at him working, darning his socks
in the night when there's nobody there
What does he care

All the lonely people
Where do they all come from?
All the lonely people
Where do they all belong?

Ah, look at all the lonely people
Ah, look at all the lonely people

Eleanor Rigby, died in the church
and was buried along with her name
Nobody came
Father McKenzie, wiping the dirt
from his hands as he walks from the grave
No one was saved

All the lonely people
Where do they all come from?
All the lonely people
Where do they all belong?

Precious, if that's your picture at the top of your profile page, it's no wonder you're lonely.

I won't see my wife today. Our work schedules are such that we don't see each other most of the week.

On one hand, this limits the amount of yelling she can do to me for being messy or whatever the particular transgression might be.

It also severely limits the chances of me getting "lucky" for the bouquet I've left out for her tonight.

When I first returned to the US to live as an adult (I was born here, but lived outside the country for many, many years), I got myself an apartment in Pasadena. My first piece of mail to my address was a Valentine's Day card -- but to the previous occupant-- it wasn't even for me. That made me feel so horribly lonely.

Flash forward a couple years-- I found the right person and am so very, very happy. All things will happen in time. It sounds corny, but its true.

Love does come to loving people. But it comes on its schedule.

By myself alone, but never lonely.

Don't let the commercialization of Valentine's Day get you down. It's far better to be alone than with a jerk.
