A German zoo has imported four female penguins from Sweden in an effort to tempt its gay penguins to go straight.
The four Swedish females were dispatched to the Bremerhaven Zoo in Bremen after it was found that three of the zoo's five penguin pairs were homosexual.
Keepers at the zoo ordered DNA tests to be carried out on the penguins after they had been mating for years without producing any chicks.
It was only then they realised that six of the birds were living in homosexual partnerships.
Director Heike Kueck said that the zoo hoped to see some baby penguins in the coming months.
She said that the birds had been mating for years and one couple even adopted a stone that they protected like an egg.
Kueck said that the project has the support of the European Endangered Species Programme because the penguins, which are native to South America, are an endangered species.
A biologist will be on hand to monitor the experiment.
But introducing the Bremerhaven penguins to their new Swedish friends may not be as successful as hoped after earlier experiments revealed great difficulties in separating homosexual couples.
In case they show no interest, the zoo has also flown in two new male penguins "so that the ladies don't miss out altogether", Kueck added.
Why didn't they send the Penguins to "Big Gay Al's Animal Sanctuary"
Well, that's where homosexuality will get you...on an endangered species list.
and ... on the happier side of life as it seems
Have they verified that the girls aren't gay?
Cute!
How do you get it to post like that ... with action?
No, it's just a simple image implant of an animated GIF file. You post it just like you would a jpeg. Glad you liked it.
Me thinks this is some propaganda. Next, we will hear from the Kinsey institute that 10% of all animals of each species are gay.
Change is possible. I know. But now gay activist groups are threatening me.
Why would they fear zookeepers would "force" them to turn straight. Aren't they the one's that always say they are naturally born that way? You can't force someone to be straight. If they are gay, they are gay.
What a goofy penguin. I'd have to smack him down too.
Why that would be just super.

As with the rest of the protests from these groups, this is absolutely rediculous!! Like they say, ya can't make this stuff up!! It is laughable, but so unreal it isn't funny! These people need to get lives, get jobs, something anything that doesn't involve sex and sitting around figuring out who to target next having to do with their agenda!
Now this is funny.....passing it on LOL !!!
Bawhahahahha...surely one of my favorites!!
"Gay" penguins spark protest
Fri Feb 11,12:16 PM ET
BERLIN (Reuters) - A plan by a German zoo to test the sexual appetites of a group of suspected homosexual penguins has sparked outrage among gay and lesbian groups, who fear zookeepers might force them to turn straight.
"All sorts of gay and lesbian associations have been e-mailing and calling in to protest," said a spokesman for the zoo in the northwestern city of Bremerhaven on Friday.
He said the zoo concluded the penguins might be gay after seeing male penguins trying to mate with other males and trying to hatch offspring out of stones.
German media reported that female Swedish penguins would be brought to the zoo to test the theory, but when word got out about the plan, the phones started ringing.
"Nobody here is trying to break-up same sex pairs by force," the zoo's director Heike Kueck told public broadcaster NDR. "We don't know if the three male pairs are really gay or just got together because of a lack of females."
