Oh my.... We've never done ceramic tile... but that is EXACTLY the way my dad would react to it.

We've got to replace the kitchen floor this year (and that includes the foyer and downstairs bath). We talked about ceramic tile, but ruled it out, not because we were afraid of breaking it, but we were afraid that anything dropped on it (just think 5, 15, 74) would break.

That is how a normal person thinks... :~D

Mom had the kitchen and hall redone in ceramic tile. It doesn't break as many things as you'd think, but it gets cold! That in bare feet's not pleasant... more pleasant than some of the things on the thread this morning. I'm glad I didn't really want breakfast anyway...

Corin, glad to hear about the PC.

Now THAT is true. Nothing really can survive dropping on tile. Glass, hard plastic, clay...it all shatters on impact.

But clean up is easy on tile, even if there is more to clean up.

That's why I don't want ceramic tile. I'm dropping stuff all the time. Standing on ceramic tile is also hard on the back! Wood or linoleum would be much more resilient.
