The Hobbit Hole XIX - Tomorrow we may come this way...
The Freeper Hobbit Hole ^

Posted on 01/27/2005 9:59:05 AM PST by ecurbh

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

Tomorrow we may come this way...

New verse:

Upon the hearth the fire is red,
Beneath the roof there is a bed;
But not yet weary are our feet,
Still round the corner we may meet
A sudden tree or standing stone
That none have seen but we alone.
Tree and flower and leaf and grass,
Let them pass! Let them pass!
Hill and water under sky,
Pass them by! Pass them by!

Still round the corner there may wait
A new road or a secret gate,
And though we pass them by today,
Tomorrow we may come this way
And take the hidden paths that run
Towards the Moon or to the Sun.
Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe,
Let them go! Let them go!
Sand and stone and pool and dell,
Fare you well! Fare you well!

Home is behind, the world ahead,
And there are many paths to tread
Through shadows to the edge of night,
Until the stars are all alight.
Then world behind and home ahead,
We’ll wander back to home and bed.
Mist and twilight, cloud and shade,
Away shall fade! Away shall fade!
Fire and lamp, and meat and bread,
And then to bed! And then to bed!

Evening Winmag - well, at the present Uncle Sam is a ~ bit ~ ahead of your efforts, but I guess you are the biggest enthusiast. Congrats on all your hard work.

What hard work? I'm having a blast. Just not enough waking hours to get things done as fast as I want.

I've been kicking myself lately for being a lazy slug. There are books I want to read, movies I want to watch, stories I want to write, computer projects I want to start, and none of it is getting done.

So today I find myself taking more knives in for engraving, and bringing back the earlier batch, which still needs final touches. Plus getting one of our customized Cuda CQB3s to mail back to Michelle at Camillus for their factory collection. Then there are the "black" projects, even inside Q-Branch, which may yet see the light of day, like our Extrema Ratio knives.

Now I don't feel so much like a slug. I'd still like another eight hours of wakefullness every day, though.

*sigh*

It's a Monday.

Heh....I get halfway through the last set of samples for my project and then find out that I need the extraction method audited by QA. Doh!

I wanna pint!

Congrats on finishing the office! Hope the Realtor Lady doesn't ask you to paint it white.

Ah, thank you! I, unfortunately, know very little Latin.

I assume that's what it said because I know Dominus Vobiscum means 'The Lord be with you', and I believe Victoria means 'victory'.

I think you are probably right; I was able to find a Latin translation site on the web that translated "vobiscum" as a form of "you".

I'll be bringing some .45 Auto Rim for the Webley. I'll have to dig out the load info and we can compare them.

according to my manuals; Lyman's 47th Edition Reloading Manual and Handloading (copyright 1986, Fifth printing 1992) from the NRA, my .45 ACP load should be safe to fire in place of a .45 auto rim... I can always load a batch with less powder (i.e. 4.3 gr) to play it safe... they should shoot fine...

Is your Webley a 1917 model?... if so, do you have half-moon clips?... they are not necessary, but you'll have to manualy extract the spent cartridges...

btw, please bring the .32 muzzle loader, thekids will love it...

I'm putting together a post with the websites and phone numbers of nearby motels and B&Bs...

Nana looks at me and says "I wouldn't want to live that close to my in-laws..."

I looked at her and said "Just exactly why are you saying that to ME?????"

hey howdy there everybody!

Wassupanstuf?

Today was more of the people-managin' stuff that I really detest. Somebody's trying to get one my guys fired, and I don't think my guy deserves it. At least... not this time... but they're getting really intense about it. Now the water is so poisoned for this guy, it's only a matter of time.
