New verse:

     |
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |

       |

       |

Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |

       |

Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

have been sitting here arguing health care policy with a Canadian and a guy on MedicareMasochist.
I'm not really here for another few minutes, then I'll be gone.

Which is why I bought the case with a power supply pre-installed.

I'm pretty sure the sticker was over the last four holes, but of course I took it off before I saw the warning (if it was a warning). I'll research things a little more tomorrow... can't power the system on for days, anyway.

Was discussing it with Rose, and she speculated that the extra connector postions on the MB may be for one of the new, suped-up power supplies. I really don't know, and I'm yawning my fool head off, so I'd better get to bed.
Good night!

Thanks to both of you for your help! Yeah, I got a plain boring power supply. Should be strong enough, though.

Good night!

    Good morning!

Brr...cold one out there. Currently -18 on campus. It was a couple of degrees colder that THAT at home. Still preferable to ice storms, but...brrr.

Had a really good Irish session night last night! There was a big group of people who came pretty much to hear us! One lady knew some Irish dancing, and on the faster tunes she got up and danced along - and there's NOTHING like playing for a dancer. The beat just gets more and more pumped up until the rhythm just takes over, and it's hypnotic. I can't really describe it. But it was awesome!

Lots of fun.

More music tonight! Got that acoustic jam, if'n I don't chicken out on account of the cold. It's not supposed to be as cold tonight as it was yesterday, though.

Sounds like a great time.... I am sure you are right that the excitement of the audience makes all the difference.

Yep! It was odd, really. This isn't a concert...it's just a bunch of us playing in a corner. But EVERYONE was into it last night, maybe because of the cold? Even the snowmobiler guys just stopping in for a drink were paying attention to is. Just a good night, I guess!

If a few people are really into it, the rest of the people in the place will pay more attention too...

And yet it seems like the system is screwing him over.It does seem that way, especially if they're not willing to provide some extra help, but at the same time would not allow a credit from private tutoring. Would they accept credit from Mrs. S's school if he took a class there? They must have some sort of provision for accepting credits for kids moving in to public schools from private ones.

I love hearing your session experiences! I live vicariously through you!

Maybe asg I'll get to go to a few...Steve's never been real thrilled with it though...

and there's NOTHING like playing for a dancer. The beat just gets more and more pumped up until the rhythm just takes over, and it's hypnotic. I can't really describe it. But it was awesome! That's why I enjoyed watching "Riverdance". I love the percussion of Irish Dance music!! I wish they'd offered Step Dance when I was little. That's something I could have really gotten into! I took dancing until 6th grade, and I loved tap, but you also had to do ballet which I detested!

If you caught a night when everyone was "on", he might just catch what it is that you love so much!

That's the reason I go to the Friday jam week after week. There are a lot of weeks when it's just OK - a decent way to pass an evening. Then there are other weeks when it's absolutely magical - nights I'll remember all my life.
