This is for any of you who think Noam Chomsky is a bit of a tool. Have you ever seen his atrocious blogs? The best part is when he compares people who are upset with the actions of the insurgents to Nazi and Stalin sympathizers. Yep.
Here's my take on Nim Chimsky and his two terrible blogs:
never heard of this Chomsky fellow ;)
people at my university love this guy. not me of course. his arguments are about as valid as north korean democracy. Zzzzzzzzzz...
CHumpski hasn't updated his blog since july 29, 2004
The first link in my post is to his abandoned blog. Scroll down and you'll find his current crap-sheet. That's where he makes the Nazi/Stalin comparison. Oh, the humanity.
A note: I went to grad school at a VERY left-wing NYC university and one of the first things I learned there is that Chomsky has a low reputation among Poly-Sci faculty. The head of the department thought his political writings were virtually worthless, and this from a prof who has written books on SDS and Foucault. Very enlightening. I guess not every knee jerks.
Chomsky grew up in a very cloistered orthodoxy. Chomsky's detached worldview processes humans, the human condition, and humanity as mere abstractions. Those who unconditionly accept Chomsky's essentially misanthropic worldview have great reverence for him, and those who reject his connate misanthropy have no reverence for him at all.
Even Chomsky, linguistic grandmaster, cannot avoid convoluted thinking.
Some would say Chomsky is not even a linguistic grandmaster. Check out amritas.com as some dissent against Noamuhammed.
"Some would say Chomsky is not even a linguistic grandmaster. Check out amritas.com as some dissent against Noamuhammed."
If one has to parse through Noam's obscurities and convolutions (or rhetorical deceptions), one finds that the nihilistic writer's logic is circuitous. Parsing Noam is like taking a trip on the proverbial straight line drawn into infinity which returns from its circular route to Noam's original warped source. I don't know why he lives in America when Saturn best suits his state of mind.
Thanks for the reference.
