Yes, I have a Ruger .22 single six revolver with a .22 mag cylinder. Lots of fun. Of course, the rounds are quite a bit more expensive than the .22lr, so I don't use it as much.

Our computer is haunted. Darks! "The page cannot be found." If I go through the other way, I can see the words Gold... but then the screen goes blank.

For plinking and practice, I like auto-loaders... ergo,a NIB AMT AutoMagII has just been ordered.

Our weather is beginning to creep me out. Two days now with limited, to no sun.

That song reminds me of the time a squirrel came down the chimney and out of the wood-stove in my Sis's house. Boy, that thing went Coo Coo.

Went up and down and all over the house like a maniac. My Sis had to run and hide after she called her son. He finally cornered it in a bedroom and had to kill it with a baseball bat.

Scary, and what damage he did in that frightful trap he was in, before my nephew nailed him.

If you haven't seen the excitement from the election I'm copying a quote from the weblog "Iraq the Model". They have some great pics of ink stained fingers. Go also to Powerline and Instapundit for some great coverage.

This is as historic and wonderful as the fall of the Berlin wall. A proud day.

A Sunni in Baghdad describing his day....Here it is:

IRAQ THE MODEL Sunday, January 30, 2005 The people have won. We would love to share what we did this morning with the whole world, we can't describe the feelings we've been through but we'll try to share as much as we can with you. We woke up this morning one hour before the alarm clock was supposed to ring. As a matter of fact, we barely slept at all last night out of excitement and anxiety. The first thing we saw this morning on our way to the voting center was a convoy of the Iraqi army vehicles patrolling the street, the soldiers were cheering the people marching towards their voting centers then one of the soldiers chanted "vote for Allawi" less than a hundred meters, the convoy stopped and the captain in charge yelled at the soldier who did that and said: "You're a member of the military institution and you have absolutely no right to support any political entity or interfere with the people's choice. This is Iraq's army, not Allawi's". This was a good sign indeed and the young officer's statement was met by applause from the people on the street. The streets were completely empty except for the Iraqi and the coalition forces ' patrols, and of course kids seizing the chance to play soccer! We had all kinds of feelings in our minds while we were on our way to the ballot box except one feeling that never came to us, that was fear. We could smell pride in the atmosphere this morning; everyone we saw was holding up his blue tipped finger with broad smiles on the faces while walking out of the center. I couldn't think of a scene more beautiful than that. From the early hours of the morning, People filled the street to the voting center in my neighborhood; youths, elders, women and men. Women's turn out was higher by the way. And by 11 am the boxes where I live were almost full! Anyone watching that scene cannot but have tears of happiness, hope, pride and triumph. The sounds of explosions and gunfire were clearly heard, some were far away but some were close enough to make the windows of the center shake but no one seemed to care about them as if the people weren't hearing these sounds at all. I saw an old woman that I thought would get startled by the loud sound of a close explosion but she didn't seem to care, instead she was busy verifying her voting station's location as she found out that her name wasn't listed in this center. How can I describe it!? Take my eyes and look through them my friends, you have supported the day of Iraq's freedom and today, Iraqis have proven that they're not going to disappoint their country or their friends. Is there a bigger victory than this? I believe not. I still recall the first group of comments that came to this blog 14 months ago when many of the readers asked "The Model?"… "Model for what?" Take a look today to meet the model of courage and human desire to achieve freedom; people walking across the fire to cast their votes. Could any model match this one!? Could any bravery match the Iraqis'!? Let the remaining tyrants of the world learn the lesson from this day. The media is reporting only explosions and suicide attacks that killed and injured many Iraqis s far but this hasn't stopped the Iraqis from marching towards their voting stations with more determination. Iraqis have truly raced the sun. I walked forward to my station, cast my vote and then headed to the box, where I wanted to stand as long as I could, then I moved to mark my finger with ink, I dipped it deep as if I was poking the eyes of all the world's tyrants. I put the paper in the box and with it, there were tears that I couldn't hold; I was trembling with joy and I felt like I wanted to hug the box but the supervisor smiled at me and said "brother, would you please move ahead, the people are waiting for their turn". Yes brothers, proceed and fill the box! These are stories that will be written on the brightest pages of history. It was hard for us to leave the center but we were happy because we were sure that we will stand here in front of the box again and again and again. Today, there's no voice louder than that of freedom. No more confusion about what the people want, they have said their word and they said it loud and the world has got to respct and support the people's will. God bless your brave steps sons of Iraq and God bless the defenders of freedom. Aasha Al-Iraq….Aasha Al-Iraq….Aasha Al-Iraq. Mohammed and Omar. - posted by Omar @ 15:34 Comments (139) Powered by Blogger

Thank you for the info. Our morning commie paper forgot to print anything about the election on the front page. Well, I think I finally found a small paragraph tucked away in the bottom corner, under the huge headline about some lady getting plastic surgery or something.

Fox news has been doing a wonderful job in their coverage. One good way to know this has been so succesful is that the other networks aren't covering it wall to wall.....ABC news morning show was covering new shaving technologies I hear.....

I watched a little last night, watched Roger Simon liveblog it for about an hour as well, then checked this morning.

Bless them all is right.

Almost had a pet squirrel.
Squirrels, unfortunately, can get strep throat rather easily.
Kills them rather quickly.

Been haunting my computer though.

And on a not so serious note:
As far as the dreams go, don't think I've seen that done before without permanent damage.

(Did I really set myself alight? And what was with stomping through tokyo in bunny slipper?)
/ joke

Sunday Greetings from the chilly, showery, grey-skied Pacific Northwest...BigDom, Andy, and I are all fine, well, and happy....

Andy is now in Trinidad, Cuba, and has been there for about a week...he left Canada last Sunday, and flew down to Cuba, and will be traveling around with a friend he met up with, one of numerous friends he made while on his world trip a few years ago....needless to say, Dom and I were a bit concerned about Andys safety in Cuba, but he thinks we worry needlessly...in any case, he did manage to find a net cafe, and was able to email me on Friday, that he is just fine, and is enjoying seeing Cuba...

He was on a snorkeling tour, and later found himself on the beach, eating fresh lobster and taking advantage of the open bar...he assures us he is well...I dont know what kind of accomodations he has, but if he sticks to his usual mode of travel, he will not be staying in any hotels, or touristy places...instead he prefers to mingle with the locals, and find people who will rent out a room for a few nites....he likes to visit with the locals, dine with them in their homes, see how they live...and of course, since there is such great poverty in Cuba, I would assume the locals are anxious to get a few extra dollars in their pockets....

Andy exchanged all his American dollars for Canadian dollars, as Castro will no longer allow American dollars to be used....and no American bank cards, or debit cards, or credit cards can be used, so Andy is walking around with a wad of Canadian cash in his pocket...be careful, is what I told him....

When Andy is on his trips, he usually likes to update his website as he travels along, but in Cuba, internet cafes are a rare thing, and when you do find them, Andy says they are incredibly expensive...so he will have to wait to return home, before he can post news of his travels...he just uses the internet when he can find it, to email me, to let me know he is fine, and not dead...One of his many girlfriends, will be joining up with him in Cuba in another week, so he is looking forward to that...

Dom has finally stopped working overtime at the trusty post office...thought he would take it easy for his last few months of work...now for the last 12 yrs, he has been working as much overtime as he could get in...money to send Andy through college, money for our trips, money to save for retirement, money for our RV...when he came home Sat. morning, and gave me his paycheck, gads, it was a great shock...a check with just straight pay...as Dom said, "read it and weep"...it surely did look puny after all those years of overtime pay...ah well, dont want Dom to drop dead from overtime work, before he gets the chance to retire...

We will be taking our last vacation from the post office, for the last 2 weeks of April...then Dom will return for a few days, and then hang it up, and get out of there for good..we sure are looking forward to being on our own time from now on...

The new RV has been fully outfitted, and is ready to hit the road, when we are ready...it should be an exciting time....DD and Freeople folks beware, we may be pulling up into your driveway at any time....

Westy...I found your link to the Camp Gecko interesting...looks like the type of place we might want to stay for a while...I notice they do have beer, and ice, and soda...thats all we need, especially the beer and the ice...

Valerie...as always, I think of you in particular, because of your sons in the military and know that you are proud of them, ,and yet worry a good deal about them...being in the military, no matter where you are stationed, can be hazardous duty....

This afternoon, Dom is going over to the Library, to start filling out his retirement papers from the post office...lots of crap to fill out...then this coming Thursday, he has his appointment with Social Security Office...paperwork, paperwork, paperwork...a pain in the rear, but has to be done to get your money....seems like we had to fill out a million forms to get his military retirement, and now we are at it again...seems like only yesterday, we were a young couple with two small boys...now we are 'seniors', on the verge of becoming geriatric gypsies...how time does fly..
