Greetings Survivor FReeks!
Its time once again for a new season of Survivor!
Twenty Americans are stranded in Palau, the South Pacific paradise some call the 8th natural wonder of the world, where colorful wildlife, dense jungles and an underwater world beyond belief are haunted by the wreckage and remnants of World War II.
From the beginning, the game will be changed in a dramatic way: everything the Survivors have come to expect will be wiped out in the first 10 minutes.
Who will outwit, outplay, and outlast all others in Palau?
According to the official website, there will only be one tribe (at least for starters) and three contestants will get the boot during the first show.
Should be interesting!
If they don't, go to cbs.com and they'll have it there. Good win Tom.
Coby just hates men.
Glad Tom won! A NY city FD guy, how could he not!
And don't get me started about that funny farmer!
Tom is just a stand-up guy who deserves this. I can't say enough nice things about him.
Well, I can't stand to watch Coby, so I'm going to the TIVO box to watch Deadwood. Have a good night.
LOL. Me neither.
I keep thinking there's going to be a CSI:LV on next.
I've posted a ton tonight. Whew. I'm logging off now, but I'll check back tomorrow sometime to check out any new posts.
Good night y'all :)
On ta Guatamala next! See ya then!
Stay well, stay safe! Have a great summer!
Im glad were off the islands..LOL...see ya next season
Thanks for the thread. It was a great show, and a great thread.
Do you know what the final vote was? I can't imagine too many of the jury voting for Katie.
That was the most jaw dropping Survivor finale I've seen yet. Several times my wife and I looked at each other and said, "I can't believe he/she did/said that!"
Thanks cuz. Can't wait for Survivor ... Mayan Empire, right? But at least we've got Rob and Amber's wedding to entertain us ...
Ian is still an idiot. He waited 11 hours on a pole to promise something he could have in the first two minutes. For once, somebody who deserved to win, did. Down side is, it's going to be hard to top this show, though the Mayan location is a great idea. Coby had his wittle feelwings hurt and was the only one to vote for Katie. Too bad his adopted daughter won't have a father figure to identify with. And did you catch it when Jeff asked if any of them thought that he talked Janu into quitting? Coby put his hand up but quickly yanked it down when he saw no one else agreed. I don't think Jeff saw it.
I would also like to see who voted for whom in addition to the total votes for each. I was very satisfied with the outcome. In the end, Katie alienated too many people and did too little to pull her own (substantial) weight in the game to bring home the bacon. Tom played the hardest and achieved the most and thus deserved to win. I guess it's now on to Guatemala. Hot and humid. Wouldn't want to be there, although seeing and living among the ruins would be cool.
Yeah, I think a lot of my Tom love has to do with my incredible admiration for the FDNY. My personal license plate (California) is the 9/11 Memorial Design and says "ENGN 54" after the company that lost 15 members that day.
I still cry. I couldn't have been more happy that Tom won!
I disagree, at least with respect to waiting almost 12 hours. I think he made a calculated choice that restoring his honor and integrity (in the eyes of Tom, in particular, who seems to have become a bit of a father figure for him) was worth more than a million dollars. Personally, I think it admirable, especially in light of Jeff's comments in Entertainment Weekly that Colby sticking with Tina (I think it was) in Survivor: Australia was the only honorable decision that he ever saw on the show at the end like that. My only caveat is that I don't think Katey was worth his respect since she was just playing for herself. For her, the honorable thing to do would have been to decline Ian's offer and step down and tell Tom to pick Ian. She didn't do that. But I don't hold that against Ian. I hold that against her.
No, I think it was an honor decision based on the fact that Tom had become something of a father figure (I do wonder what Ian's parents were like) and he was hurt by the fact that Tom lost his respect for him. Remember, just before Ian shocked Tom with his "tough decision" comment, Tom had gotten through saying that he wouldn't turn on Ian because he trusted Ian. To a lesser extent, he had also let Katie down not long before. And I think that like he said, he didn't want to go home being the villain and he certain did pick a solution that did restore his honor and Tom's respect for him. While I think Tom deserved that, I don't think Katie did. But I, for one, was happy to see honor play such a big role in a game where people seem to be so quick to justify anything and everything on the grounds of "It's just a game" and "I'm here to win a million dollars." I think that both Ian and Tom (in not turning on Ian, which could have cost him the game because Ian was his only threat in the final 4) were simply showing that there is more to the game than winning.
will they show the total number of votes tom got?
On The Early Show this morning they said that Tom got all of the votes, except for the one vote from Kobe that went to Katie. I am so glad that the 9/11 firefighter won. I wish that somewhere we could hear more details about his experience on 9/11. I know that he said he didn't want to exploit his role on 9/11 and that is why he doesn't talk about it. I admire this choice.
