Greetings Survivor FReeks!
Its time once again for a new season of Survivor!
Twenty Americans are stranded in Palau, the South Pacific paradise some call the 8th natural wonder of the world, where colorful wildlife, dense jungles and an underwater world beyond belief are haunted by the wreckage and remnants of World War II.
From the beginning, the game will be changed in a dramatic way: everything the Survivors have come to expect will be wiped out in the first 10 minutes.
Who will outwit, outplay, and outlast all others in Palau?
According to the official website, there will only be one tribe (at least for starters) and three contestants will get the boot during the first show.
Should be interesting!
And let me take this opportunity to thank you for ALL the recaps and picks throughout the season. Great job as ever.
NFP
What's say an informal poll who you think will be the winner? Also, who you'd LIKE to be the winner (if different)
For me:
Tom / Tom
I have never been right.
I think the only time I was happy with the winner of Survivor was when Sandra won Pearl Islands, mostly because I liked her philosophy - I don't care who we vote for as long as it isn't ME.
The one player I wanted to win so bad that didn't - Hunter Ellis in Marquesas (probably the genesis of my Bahstin Rahb hate).
For me, I think Tom will win, but I would like Ian to win. He's just cute as a button!
I saw in the preview description that something happens in the last immunity challenge that makes Survivor history. I was thinking that if there is a 3way endurance challenge with Tom, Katie and Ian and Katie wants to win immunity that Ian offers to quit early if she will take him to the final 2. His way of saving her. But I think she would screw him and take Tom or Jen instead.
I'm curious.....Why do you think Ian took Tom on the reward when they both agreed not to leave the girls alone?
Did I miss something?
Tom/Tom
I'm with you.
I'm also from NY and have lots of family and friends on FDNY. Lost one of them on 9/11
It was completely befuddling. You could see the look in Tom's face, like DUDE DON'T PICK ME!! The only thing I can point to as a possibility is Ian's age.
Having young kids I'm quickly realizing that they don't do an altogether good job of following directions, and every once in a while they don't do what they say they're going to do. So, his age, combined with his ability to become flustered when confronted, lead me to believe that Ian isn't the strongest player at this point. He's very likeable and quite smart. I think he and Katie have control of the game now, barring some huge betrayal.
So, I think Ian will win. As for who I want to win, it's almost a toss-up between Ian and Tom, but I guess Tom cuz my dad was a firefighter (my dad is NOT a sloppy drunk, however).
This is a great Survivor, many compelling dynamics.
Was Hunter Ellis the one that wore the suit coat all the time? And did he get eliminated because they brought back old players that had already been eliminated? I hated that Survivor! He was a smart, strong player that would have won but they brought back the losers who hated him for being smart and strong. I stopped watching because of it.
Hey, my dad was a firefighter too. And never drank his whole life. My mother, on the other hand...........but she eventually gave it up.
I agree that Ian & Katie have control of the game right now. IMO, Tom has to win every immunity challenge left. I think he can. Then he has to take someone that the jury doesn't like into the final 2 with him, and the money is his.
The Final Four:Ian, Jennifer, Katie, Tom
The Jury: Coby, The Quitter, Stephenie, Gregg, Caryn
The Losers: Jonathan, Wanda, Jolanda, Ashlee, Jeff, Kim, Willard, Angie, James, Ibrehem, Bobby Jon,
Greetings fellow Survivor junkies! Its Sunday, May 15th, so that means its time for your:
Tonights final episode is titled: The Ultimate Shock!
From the official SeeBS website, various video promos and spoiler sites across the world wide web, here is what we can expect to see tonight.
The Final Four rethink their strategies when a once-solid alliance dissolves with the slip of a tongue.
According to the video promo, Ian says to Tom I told them that I was gonna vote you off. To which Tom replies, Okay, that's all I needed to know. I think this occurs the night before the first Immunity Challenge. Tom of course wins the Immunity challenge which leads up to the first Tribal Council hinted at next.
After an emotional Tribal Council, arguments erupt, feelings are hurt and friendships are questioned. Jenn is the first boot, since Tom has Immunity. I think we can expect to see Katie attempting to lay yet another guilt trip on Ian which Tom also gets involved with. Lots of yelling, finger pointing, crying etc.etc.etc.
A shocking development during the Final Immunity Challenge promises to go down in SURVIVOR history. One of the spoiler sites claim to have first hand knowledge that the final Immunity Challenge is the standard endurance test involving holding onto an idol of some kind, while standing on a very small defined area. Perhaps a stump or log stuck in the ground. Anyway, this spoiler also claims that the first contestant to drop out, lasts 6 hours. While the final contestant to drop out lasts a total of 11 hours. The shocking development is rumored to be that Ian makes an agreement with both Katie and Tom that he will drop out first if whoever wins the final IC agrees to take him into the final two. He drops out and Katie finally gives up after 11 hours. Tom wins the final Immunity Challenge and the shocker is he goes against his promise and votes out Ian, taking Katie into the final two with him.
Tears and harsh words fuel a tense session between the Jury and the Final Two.This starts with Ian chastising Tom for breaking his word about the two of them in the final two, and continues with all the other jurors giving both Tom and Katie a severe tongue lashing.
It appears that the first Immunity Challenge is a combination of zip line racing and fire building. Tom of course wins it to prevent Ian siding with the gals in booting him at the first Tribal Council.
The second Immunity Challenge is the endurance test which Tom again wins.
Well, thats about it so here is:
And I predict the Jurys vote will be as follows:
Coby (Votes for Tom) Even though he didnt care for Toms bossy-ness and unwillingness to include Coby in any of the day to day activities around camp, he realizes that Katie did as little as possible and pretty much rode on Tom and Ians coat tails into the final four. This causes Coby to have a last minute change of heart and vote for Tom.
The Quitter (Votes for Tom) Tom was there giving her encouragement when she was at her lowest, and she confirms this during one of her post game interviews. She has greater respect for Tom than for Katie, whom she considers a very poor under the radar player.
Stephenie (votes for Tom) Even though Tom kind of went back on his promise of keeping her in the final four, she understands the need to vote out the challenge threats. Katie on the other hand, did as little as possible both around camp and during challenges, and that never sat well with Steph.
Gregg (votes for Tom) Simply due to the grudge he holds against Katie for voting to boot him. In fact he made the following comment during one of his post game interviews which was directed at Katie. That's the last trip you'll get from me, "friend." Of course, we have heard something similar before (Think Survivor: Amazon) so Gregg could be a spoiler and vote the other way. I dont think so, but ya never know.
Caryn (votes for Tom) Her vote could also go either way, but she did make the comment during the show that Katie is playing for second place. She also appreciates Toms honesty and integrity while she was in the game.
Jenn (votes for Katie) Even though her cuddle bunny Gregg voted for Tom, (and while I doubt Jenn is capable of having an original thought in her pretty little bleached blond head), she will probably vote for Katie because she felt closer to Katie than Tom during the game. Im still hoping against hope that she surprises everyone and votes for Tom, but its not looking good.
Ian (votes for Katie) I was originally leaning for a Tom vote here along with Jenns to give Tom the first unanimous Jury vote in Survivor history. However, during last Thursdays show Ian seems to have been hen-pecked and browbeaten into submission by Katie. Couple this with the rumored lying that Tom did during the final Immunity Challenge and Im quite sure that Ian will vote for Katie.
So there you have it. Tom wins Survivor: Palau with a Jury vote of 5 to Katies 2.
Thank each and every one of you for your kind words of encouragement and for putting up with my ranting and ravings for the past few months. Its been real and its been a hell of a lot of fun. Im glad I could share this season with all of you and I hope youll agree with me when I say that in my humble opinion, this has been the absolute BEST Survivor season ever.
Take care, and Ill see yall next season.
"Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body,
but rather to skid in broadside,
thoroughly used up,
totally worn out,
and loudly proclaiming....
Wow, what a ride!"
Freepmail me if you want added to or removed from the Survivor Ping List!
Somebody slap me!! I forgot what today was.
Ian & Katie together, as a team, on next season's Amazing Race?
Cuz, thanks for all you do on these threads.
Want to win: Ian
If Ian wins (I don't think he does), I am $100.00 richer!!!!!!
Thanks, Cuz. You've done it again! Another Survivor season with your most astute commentary.
This has been a great Survivor! Can't wait to see where the next one will be.
Thank you, cuz. I'll be looking forward to next season and your commentary. :)
