What do John O'Neill and Larry Flynt have in common?

Would you believe that John O'Neill and Larry Flynt actually have something in common? Well, they do.

Yes, I know they are both human beings, or, one is a sub human being. But that's not it.

Both of these men helped save a presidency.

Some of you recall that Flynt put a full page ad in the WASHINGTON POST offering a million dollars for dirt on the GOP. He exposed the affair of incoming Speaker of the House Bob Livingston and killed his career.

Flynt claims that Clinton has thanked him for his help. He was part of the effort to convince the public that Clinton was merely guilty of a sex lie. Who wouldn't lie about that? The strategy worked. Forget that Clinton was not impeached for an affair with an intern. The impeached disgraced former president tried to fix a federal trial, intimidated witnessess, committed perjury, suborned perjury, hid evidence, and gave a false affidavit to the court. And, indeed, he raped Juanita Broaddrick and assaulted Kathleen Willey in the White House. That was a little different than someone having an affair.

O'Neill also saved a presidency. In that sense, he has something in common with Flynt. Of course, O'Neill is a real hero, not a lowlife worthless POS slimeball who molested his own daughter.

Without O'Neill and the SwiftVets whom he led in campaign '04, John Forbes Kerry would be inaugurated on Thursday. And Ta-Ray-Za would be moving into the White House. Good grief. "Shove it" would be echoing through the halls of the White House.

Although O'Neill helped extend the Bush presidency, that was not his goal. His goal was to prevent a man who was unfit for command from becoming the commander in chief. I spoke with today. He turned down the FReeper offer to attend our ball because he wants to remain non-partisan. This is an honorable man.

There really is a difference between the two sides. One man in the Oval Office does not enter without his coat and tie. One man was often without his pants. On one side is the slimball pornographer. On the other is the former Naval officer who got out of his hospital bed after donating a kidney to his wife to again lead his men when the nation needed him.

I think I'll take our side.

I'm afraid I don't understand your comment. One is you? I gave the names of the two men who were the subject of this piece. Call me confused.

Thoughtful comment, my friend. Though I've never met or talked to him, that was the same impression I have of O'Neill.

Hope to see you in D.C.

I scratched my head at that comment too. I fully understood your comparison.
However, I don't understand why O'neil turned down the offer to attend the ball.

That's a great piece. Good analysis. The two men do have a lot in common, in the ways you mentioned. Only one has integrity.

God Bless John O'Neill and The Swiftvets For Truth. I love everything that they stand for, and we owe them a huge debt of gratitude.

He and the group made it clear that they were doing this for the Vietnam vets ---- not for George Bush. The RAT Kool-Aid drinkers tried to claim that the SwiftVets were partisan Republicans. They are not. John has wanted that to always be made clear so that the claims of the bias media could be shown to be false. They did the right thing.

I'm sure it hasn't happened, but I'll bet there's a part of President Bush that would love to thank O'Neill for exposing Kerry. Bush has to know the that it was the Guns of August that torpedoed Kerry's campaign.

I failed to read the story and mistook the name for another individual. Apologies for my misstatement.

Thanks. You were thinking of Paul O'Neill. These people should be grateful for being chosen for an important position in government and should agree not to write these books.

FROM A LARRY ELDER ARTICLE ---

Did the Clinton White House not-so-silently cheer Flynt on? Flynt told The New York Observer that Clinton gave him a high-five, "The president sent word to me, you know -- ahh, he was thankful for my effort, and maybe after he left office we could break bread or something." And, didn't former White House press secretary Joe Lockhart actually call Hustler a "newsmagazine"?

There's also a poultry connection.

One man revealed a presidential candidate was/is a chicken.
The other....er...."man?" molested a chicken.
