I thought the northern East coast got whacked with snow. I must have missed something, I guess. Up in northern MN we have some snow.

We have guest family snowmobilers coming next week. Hope they know enough to keep warm.

It's COLD!!!

Try using det cord instead of the car.

That would be fun, toss in some M-80's too! B-) Sounds like what my grade school buddy would love to do, appeals to the "inner teen" in us even though I'll be 39 and he'll be 40 this year. B-)

I got it, I laughed. I am waiting for snow, here on the east coast. Keeps missing us, and it is killing my finances!

I wouldn't mind a day or two shut down over snow, would give me an excuse to get re-acquainted with the Playstation. B-)

December 16:
Ice storm this morning. Fell on my ass on the ice in the driveway putting down salt. Hurt like hell. The wife laughed for an hour, Which I think was very cruel.

Seriously, that can be quite dangerous. Slipping on ice two years ago, I grabbed the side of the garage, cut my left hand open on a nail or something, got stitches, later a strep infection and ended up in hospital for 5 days. I had to have hand surgery and the surgeon told me I could have lost all or part of my hand. I still got a big, honkin' scar on the pinky side of the hand, it's numb over there and I have some permanent nerve damage. I can use like I did before, heck, I type even faster and better but it still feels awkward and it gets sore just before rain or snow comes. I went into the hospital the day after the Columbia burned up and I spent all day watching the History Channel and Fox News as they analyzed the shuttle.

Just a couple days ago, I learned that one of my fellow gamers in the Morrow Project PBEM (Play By E-Mail) role playing game fell and broke his hip while slipping on ice and don't forget Dr. Aktins of the diet with his same name died while slippig on ice. Be careful out there.

I've broken two bones in accidents involving snow or ice. I'm going to retire someplace where they don't even sell snow shovels.

I'm hardly a wannabee. Good grief man. Get a grip. Do you want to plow snow or not? First you complain - no snow. Then you you say you're in the heart of the the South, as in VA.

Get a clue.

Are you selling clues? I might buy one.

Somebody from TX just told me I wasn't southern.

Heheh.

Don't know from battles in TX, but in FALLS CHURCH, VA, we had a few.

Mosby formed his rangers, about a few miles from here.

Less than a mile away, is the Church at the Falls - Geo. Mason and Geo. Washington both served, in their time. The Union army ripped out the pews and used it for a stable.

A block from my house, the Falls Church Rail Station was held by the Union - they forced the engineer to drive Schenk's brigade to Vienna, which was held by the South.

The engineer PUSHED the train over there - as soon as they got to Vienna, the Army of No. VA. attacked. The engineer pulled the pin, and left Schenk and his brigade in the middle of the battle, as he backed on home.

And yeah, it snows like crazy, here.

Sometimes. ;)

I remember getting snow in CS. We had a blast that winter! The dogs were almost as freaked out as the people from Corpus.

(How much snow does it take to get plowed in College Station anyway?)

Not very much. Any excuse to get plowed.

You have my condolences... Although we don't get the maassive amounts of snow here in Omaha others may, we still get enough to get ugly for a short time. Same issues, plow comes through the neighborhood and clears 1/2 to 2/3 of street width. Everyone comes out and clears end of driveway. 24 hrs later, here comes the plow again and trys for the "rest of the roadway", getting close but not up to the curb. That is when we get the rolled, icey mass piled 2-3 ft deep at end of drive..

The only thing that has worked on some occasions is when you are out plowing the drive and sidewalks, throw the snow into the yards or ahead of where the plow will run - beyond your drive. I have even gone into the street and plow the snow to the other side of the drive in the direction of travel..

Last resort - find out where the commmisioner lives and see just what the plow operators do at HIS house. We had an issue a few years back with some residential streets never getting plowed and some getting hit 2 - 3 times during a storm.. Come to find out, the streets that were hit often, had council members living on them.. Coincidence - I wonder... Anyway, photos and articles in the paper quickly changed that little "policy"...

Good luck....
