After a nine month hiatus, The Neverending Story, the granddaddy of daily threads, has returned to Free Republic. Originally begun on March 24, 2001, as a religious discussion thread, the NES evolved over time into a daily thread spanning a wide variety of topics. The new and improved Neverending Story will feature conversation on religion, politics, culture, current events, business, sports, family, hobbies, general fellowship and more. We welcome you to hang your hat in our little corner of FR. We ask you to abide by the FR posting rules and, even in the midst of serious debate, to keep the discussion friendly and respectful. Those who wish to "duke it out" are asked to take it over to the Smoky Backroom. I placed this thread in "General/Chat" for a reason, so play nice and have fun! :o)
I raised 3 boys. I have lot's of harmless teenage prank stories. Unfortunately I can't share them though because I don't know what the statue of limitations are:')
What does Becky think? ;o)
I'm very happy being single and independent. Stacy is great, and I enjoy spending time with her. Doesn't mean I'm ready to rush into a second marriage. How does the saying go? "A second marriage is the triumph of optimism over experience". I'd only commit to someone with whom I am truly compatible, where we work together as partners and where we appreciate one another.
LOL!
Its only $1000 an acre, we can work out a payment plan. X________________________
Here's my pin, OK that line with the X on it. :)

The flip side of what I said is that, absent those things, I'd choose to remain single and independent. Not gonna get myself back into the kind of situation I'm just about done extricating myself from. No way.
Well, 1000 dollars isn't bad and it has potential and lots of trees. Just need to figure out a way to dry it up a little bit. A sump (ms?) pump maybe? :')

Good, just remember they ALL turn into situation's :)

Forget draining it; there's probably some good bass fishin' in that water!
Well ya just might have trouble with them gators that are in there....

Undeveloped rural property. 10-20+ acre wooded parcels within close proximity to a newly-completed highway along a future growth corridor. In the area in which I'm looking, the going rate is around $4,000/acre.

Away from the alligators, presumably. ;o)
Yep, that's my thought. This is land which is only going to increase in value.
:'). Is 4000 bad? Around here the cheapest I can find is 5500 an acre. Farm land. Raw. No trees.
"Land isn't getting cheaper and God not making no more"
It's a pretty good price. Consider that 1/4 acre city lots are going for $50-60,000. And rural land nearer the metro area is going for $10,000/acre.
Yep! (Well, except for Hawaii).
Yeah. We bought a 70x150 lot about 7 years ago for 8000. We are taxed for 16000 now.
