After a nine month hiatus, The Neverending Story, the granddaddy of daily threads, has returned to Free Republic. Originally begun on March 24, 2001, as a religious discussion thread, the NES evolved over time into a daily thread spanning a wide variety of topics. The new and improved Neverending Story will feature conversation on religion, politics, culture, current events, business, sports, family, hobbies, general fellowship and more. We welcome you to hang your hat in our little corner of FR. We ask you to abide by the FR posting rules and, even in the midst of serious debate, to keep the discussion friendly and respectful. Those who wish to "duke it out" are asked to take it over to the Smoky Backroom. I placed this thread in "General/Chat" for a reason, so play nice and have fun! :o)
When did you change your tagline? Mine was going to say "UNITARJEWMIAN - cult of 2"...until i noticed yours changed.
indicative or more change...

To recap: you made the (eye-popping) claim that "tundra" is only "tundra" during the season of the year when the surface is thawed. If you disagree with my understanding of your position (as expressed in #374), please let me know. I've provided ample evidence that your definition of "tundra" is askew.
Belief in the resurrection of the dead is one of Maimonides' Thirteen Principles of Judaism, the closest you'll find to an Orthodox Jewish Statement of Belief.
Thanks for the link. Looks like the boys had fun with it -- at least for a while! ;o)
Smart kid! :o)
Definitely. Gavin recognized all his letters before he was two; Adrienne is four and still is learning them. But she is much more in tune to people's emotions in real life or in pictures or stories. She's extremely perceptive, and will point things out in storybooks that I've never noticed before.
I think my support of the Colts today proved my value. I'll open the bidding now for which of you can bribe me to root for the other team. ;o)
Cody surprised us. He was over two before he started trying to talk and when he started it was in very clear , simple sentences. All we can figure out was that he let JJ do his talking for him and didn't want him to know he could talk so JJ wouldn't talk his ear off. Now it's "Cody say this. Cody, tell Granny... all day long.:') Cody loves music and fighting!

Daniel also flirts with the topic:
Daniel 12:2 And many of them that sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake, some to everlasting life, and some to shame and everlasting contempt.
Still doesn't really explain who, when or how many.
Never mine that, what did you do to the Jets? ;-)
Heinz Field remains in folklore as The Place Where Kickers Come to Die.

As for the Dead Sea Scrolls, the Church is not afraid of scholarshipAny changes to the Text that come about because of this new information will not change the Faith as it has been understood and transmitted over the ages. To believe so is delusional. To continually post that radical change is only 5 years away is pathetic.
Then to attempt to conflate one, sad, Cardinal's reported ramblings with an official change in Vatican policy is either woefully ignorant or willfully deceitful. I'm not sure which.

Don't worry. You won't see Catholics without the Virgin Mary. 1 spark is barking up the wrong tree. Almah being better-translated as "maiden" than "virgin" doesn't change the fact that Mary was, is and will ever be a Virgin.

True.
Hey it's the Patriots vs. Colts in AFC Championship game.
OLD REGGIE vs SoothingDave. One who claims "right belief" vs a "protester." The entire world religious system hinges on the outcome. :-)
Oops take the Colts out and insert Steelers. :-)
I'd suggest some sort of wager, but last time that happened, the loser felt compelled to vanish from the thread rather than 'pay up'. ;o)
Funny thing is that I bet the guy feels justified in not stepping in to such a den of iniquity. :-)
AMEN, to that Dave:)
