After a nine month hiatus, The Neverending Story, the granddaddy of daily threads, has returned to Free Republic. Originally begun on March 24, 2001, as a religious discussion thread, the NES evolved over time into a daily thread spanning a wide variety of topics. The new and improved Neverending Story will feature conversation on religion, politics, culture, current events, business, sports, family, hobbies, general fellowship and more. We welcome you to hang your hat in our little corner of FR. We ask you to abide by the FR posting rules and, even in the midst of serious debate, to keep the discussion friendly and respectful. Those who wish to "duke it out" are asked to take it over to the Smoky Backroom. I placed this thread in "General/Chat" for a reason, so play nice and have fun! :o)
Is everyone back here and not on TOS?
More or less. Haven't been over there in ages, so I really have no idea if anyone has been posting on the thread there. It's been pretty quiet here, though. Not much left to talk about other personal stories and the occasional interesting news item.
These pictures of the same whale feeding for several hours, each mouthful consisting of several hundred pounds of fish after she had screened the water through her baleen.
Sometimes the whale would dive down below and blow bubbles to force all the "food" into a tight circle. She would come up straight through the middle and grab a mouthful of water and food. She would then dispel the water through her baleen and swallow the food.
At other times she would slap her tail into the mass inside the bubbles. This would stun the fish and she would "lunge" through the mass on the surface once again taking a mouthful of water and fish.
I will simply post them and will be happy to answer any questions.
Oh! The seagulls and gannets you see crowding around her head are there to pick up the crumbs.
Neat pictures, Reg!
Upon his death it was auctioned off. It now belongs to the Moonies.
ROFLOL! That is hysterical! :o)
Are you suggesting I'm on borrowed time? :)
(Well, actually, there will be more discussion of who is not on the field, than who is.)

They can't continue to be lucky enough to keep getting the Colts & Steelers in the playoffs.

Impressive. I've been slacking lately. I saw a ping to Jim. Is he back?
I see that part time schedule thing is working out well for you! :o)
Summer has been flying by. Things look to slow down a bit after Labor Day, though, and I'll have a little more free time.
Doesn't look like Jim has posted since February 27th. :o(
I didn't know how to check and just scrolled back a little..
I checked his FR posting history. That's the date of his last post.
