After a nine month hiatus, The Neverending Story, the granddaddy of daily threads, has returned to Free Republic. Originally begun on March 24, 2001, as a religious discussion thread, the NES evolved over time into a daily thread spanning a wide variety of topics. The new and improved Neverending Story will feature conversation on religion, politics, culture, current events, business, sports, family, hobbies, general fellowship and more. We welcome you to hang your hat in our little corner of FR. We ask you to abide by the FR posting rules and, even in the midst of serious debate, to keep the discussion friendly and respectful. Those who wish to "duke it out" are asked to take it over to the Smoky Backroom. I placed this thread in "General/Chat" for a reason, so play nice and have fun! :o)
I am working. How come you aint? by the way, if weather prognosticators are correct we could get 2-3 feet of snow sunday. been 70 here for the past week.
I didn't see a (1)
Well that would really suck. :o(
And here I thought Steven was making a theological statement. ;o)
I can't blame Dave. I wouldn't turn on MSNBC to watch election returns.
I'd invite you to view the tapes from the various sources, and I bet you dollars to donuts EWTN would have the least blabbing and most basic coverage of the event. I liken it to choosing ot watch an event on C-SPAN, cause they generally just show you the event.
Why would I think EWTN objective? I know it's not.

What a way to celebrate the Pioneers 2nd consecutive championship, eh?
(I haven't had the chance to see them, but I've seen UND play a few games in the tournament and they look good.)

My attention span is so short I automatically tune out repititious scenes and verbiage after the tenth iteration.
ya pretty exciting. I even took a half day off yesterday just to watch them. they had a god-awful start time of noon our time.
Nice! Wonder when that was taken.
I don't understand why they couldn't have played the games at a better time. 2pm Eastern on a Thursday is really stupid. They could have started the first game at, say 5 and have the second at 9. Then they'd have more of it in prime time to let those who want to watch it.
Is "Altitude" your local sports channel? I was able to watch some of the regional games a weekend ago on my Dish. Sometimes there's unscrambled stuff on "alternate" sports channels. They were carrying the feed from "Altitude."

Yeah, you're probably right.
As always, a certain percentage of Catholics sleep in and miss Mass. :-)
A Catholic theologian interviewed on the local radio said that cremation was associated with atheism for a long time. Apparently, there was an element of thumbing one's nose at the deity when one was cremated, as if to say "okay, big guy, ressurect this..." As such, the Catholics did not think it was a good practice. Does any of this sound familiar?

My Mother just had a Catholic funeral 3 weeks ago, she was cremated.....I didn't like the idea but I was kind of outnumbered by my other 7 brother and sisters.
