After a nine month hiatus, The Neverending Story, the granddaddy of daily threads, has returned to Free Republic. Originally begun on March 24, 2001, as a religious discussion thread, the NES evolved over time into a daily thread spanning a wide variety of topics. The new and improved Neverending Story will feature conversation on religion, politics, culture, current events, business, sports, family, hobbies, general fellowship and more. We welcome you to hang your hat in our little corner of FR. We ask you to abide by the FR posting rules and, even in the midst of serious debate, to keep the discussion friendly and respectful. Those who wish to "duke it out" are asked to take it over to the Smoky Backroom. I placed this thread in "General/Chat" for a reason, so play nice and have fun! :o)
We're celebrating the arrival of Spring. It may actually hit 70 today. Cooked some burgers on the grill last night.

My three wheeler is such a monster it requires a 36 volt battery just to start the engine (me). I think I'll take it for a little ride today. Hooray!
We were 60° on Monday, and 63° yesterday. It is 57° right now, going up to around 63° again today. There is a chance of strong thunderstorms developing this afternoon. Temps are supposed to be dropping off back into the 40s the next few days, but rebounding into the mid-50s by Sunday.
It was so gorgeous outside on Monday, I took the kids up the the zoo in Green Bay.
Cooked some burgers on the grill last night.
You don't grill in the winter?
I do on occasion. But if it's covered in snow, I'm not going to dig it out. (It's off my porch.)
It's really a shame to cook a steak any other way, so the grill gets some limited use in the winter, when available. But yesterday I could go outside without a coat and let Sarah come out and "help" for the first time since last Fall.

The secret is to wheel it into the garage for the winter. Then, when you want to use it, wheel it out into the driveway. Or, if it is snowing, open up the garage door and park it near the garage entrance so it can vent. :o)
If I had a garage uncluttered with stuff, that might be an option. As it is, it is about time for me to carefully wheel the snowblower out of the garage, then wheel the lawnmower out, then put the showblower back in first.
Change of seasons, ya know.

About grilled steak? Absolutely! :o)

Awww... how adorable! :o)
Catholicism question for you. Is Terri Schiavo someone who could seriously be considered as a candidate for sainthood?

Welcome back! It's been a while. :o)
Yeah, too long. I have been philosophically void for quite some time. I just finished a nice little book "A Time for Truth" by Os Guiness on the dangers of postmodernism, and have been devouring everything I can on the Schiavo case. As such, one is drawn back into the arms of FreeRepublic like a child to its mother (sarcastic hyperbole which borders on truth).
I'm rather skeptical about that. She is emblematic of the culture of death, but it is not correct in any way to paint her as a martyr.

I know, it's just a TV show.

Thanks, that's what I thought.
No, missed it this week. Too busy.
