The Neverending Story

The Neverending Story

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.

After a nine month hiatus, The Neverending Story, the granddaddy of daily threads, has returned to Free Republic. Originally begun on March 24, 2001, as a religious discussion thread, the NES evolved over time into a daily thread spanning a wide variety of topics. The new and improved Neverending Story will feature conversation on religion, politics, culture, current events, business, sports, family, hobbies, general fellowship and more. We welcome you to hang your hat in our little corner of FR. We ask you to abide by the FR posting rules and, even in the midst of serious debate, to keep the discussion friendly and respectful. Those who wish to "duke it out" are asked to take it over to the Smoky Backroom. I placed this thread in "General/Chat" for a reason, so play nice and have fun! :o)

At the moment I'm on FR with the firewall disabled. I have to check out the whole mess.

Is it still down? Do you have a static IP address? If so... what is it?

Just "curious" of course. :)

So far today, I processed and filed my weekly new hire report, went through unemployment reports, updated some internet job listings, and right now I'm entering bills received over the past week and doing a payables run. Read through and signed off on the new contract for our company internet service, read through and signed off on a contract with a new long distance carrier, and reviewed a quote for some new business insurance we are purchasing. I have some tax stuff to do in the next week as well, so hopefully I can get some time to work on that tomorrow.

Somebody would have to shoot me in the leg first and then threaten to shoot the other leg if I didn't do all that office work in a day. :)

What do you think of the new bankruptcy law?

I haven't reviewed the whole thing, but I've read a couple summary documents.

1) In general I think it's a good thing. Helping my brother through a bad debt situation a few years ago opened my eyes to some of the problems with the current law.

2) Anything that ticks off the liberals has got to be a good idea.

Heheheh...

Of course, there is no charge, and no winnings, in our contest; it is just for fun. But I'm sure I can talk the others into letting you join, for a small fee. ;o)

Some days are busier than others. :o)

I set aside Mondays for routine stuff like that, things that don't require too much brainpower. I save those projects for Thursdays.

Good!

Did you get any snow yesterday? It is snowing here right now, and we're expecting 2-3 inches before it heads off in your direction. Forecast highs in the low to mid-twenties through the middle of next week. :o(

We've been getting a dusting-to-an-inch nearly every night this week. It's getting annoying.

We've been stuck in this Arctic pattern as well the past week. We're starting to lift out of it, into the mid 30s. Normal highs are in the low 40s.

With the exception of Sunday, this month has so far been more like January than March. Hope this isn't an indication of what our spring is going to be like.

Sunday was sunny (but windy) and 52. By Monday morning, there was 2 inches of snow on the ground. But it's been sunny enough to melt, so that's cool.

I was down in Chicago this past weekend, and it was in the low 60s there on Sunday. It actually felt warm!
