Let me be the first: are you logged in?
On a more serious note: what is happening when you try to download it?
Are you going to this URL and press the INSTALL NOW button?
http://www.macromedia.com/shockwave/download/download.cgi?P1_Prod_Version=ShockwaveFlash
Can you give me a liittle more info about what appears to be not working? Are you getting any error messages?
You've been here long enough. You know invitations aren't necessary. :)
Go to
http://www.macromedia.com
and select the download from their website.
It is free. You may need both the Flash and Shockwave downloads.
When I attempt the download, the screen flashes briefly then I get that lovely white box with the red X in it.
Below that it says "Important Message: You may need to click the gold bar at the top of the browser window to allow the install."
But I don't get any bar at all - nowhere on my screen.
Guns Before Butter.
Please note that XP should have a version of Flash Player installed by default. To download and install a newer version, you will have to uninstall previous version.
To see if you have it installed, check your Add/Remove programs.
This page has help with difficulties, including setting IE ActiveX and security controls to assure download capability:

And, congrats on going back to school, don't give up over this .
I'm using Firefox and cannot view any Flash sites.
I always read the computer help threads because I need so much help in this area. I can't offer advice but I did want to say congratulations to you for what you are doing. Good for you. I'm sure you'll be a great nurse.
Do You allow Windows to automatically update? If so, you have Service Pack 2 installed. Macromedia needs an additional Active X control installed - a link to which is supposed to be in that gold bar.
The control is named: "Macromedia Flash Player 7 from 'Macromedia, Inc.'" The site says: When the Internet Explorer - Security Warning dialog box titled appears, click the Install button.
Note: Please ensure that "Never install software from Macromedia, Inc." is NOT checked"

Good Luck!
I assume you are using WindowsXp and IE. Is that correct?
I also assume you have clicked on Download Now and found the installer on your desktop. Is that correct?
Uh, shouldn't you be baking a pie and cleaning the house?
Sorry. Only joking. Will pray for you. Good luck with school! :)
