Regarding number three a braggart cheat and starter of genocide.
Perfect for one of the founders of the demo rat party.

I think that since your stated topic is Real Man Presidents, you are looking for a certain attitude, not necessarily the greatest presidents. I think your list is pretty good, although I'm not a big fan of Jackson and Grant surely had his demons (a complicated and misunderstood man in many respects.) Zachary Taylor might also deserve some consideration. Anybody called "Old Rough And Ready" in a very tough era, and who also died a manly death related to something he drank at a Fourth of July commemoration, has to be on some kind of list.

5. Ulysses S. GrantGreat general. Horrid president.

The only ones on your list I'd say yes to are Washington and Teddy Roosevelt, with honorable mention to Reagan. Where's Lincoln on your list? If I had to say five, in no particular order:
- Washington
- Jefferson
- Lincoln
- Teddy Roosevelt
- Franklin Roosevelt
Honorable mention:
I won't comment on George W Bush, because the story is still being written. Perhaps he will lead all the rest.

I vote for Teddy Roosevelt. If he impressed hard-bitten NoDak and SoDak cowboys in the late 1800's with his toughness, and he did, he must have been the real thing.

"GWB"
For your information, people in NYC know GWB as George Washington Bridge. May be that is why we refer to the President as W?
To: pissant

pissant, thats actually a pretty good list of manly-men who served as president. W is a manly-man. Handsom but not pretty, rough around the edges, not afraid to get his hands dirty and has partied hardy in his time. Manly men make mistakes but they get the job done.

I didn't know that Pissant was old enough to actually KNOW Grant, Teddy and Jackson.
George W. is a Cowboy - the quintessential Manly Man!
