Well - my two cents worth. We board occasionally with the contract stating that we have the right to call a vet if we deem it necessary. And yes, we would call on a horse that wasn't ours. That said, learn to give injections, keep them on hand - because sometimes you just don't have the time to wait. We would never wait for a vet even if not our horse if the colic were severe.

Good reasonable advice. I know I'd want the right to call a vet.

What I wonder is if I am in slippery footing if I give injections. ~shrugs~ I'd hope I could just honestly do what I can.
