Oh, this is a colt that he imprinted at birth then turned out to pasture for 2 yrs or so and now he's got him in training the Parelli way. I like watching him work.

New picture of me and Blade. Please replace the one you have....

Also, a picture of Grace. It's blurry but it's the best I've got...

That's the reason in a nutshell.

The quick, condensed, short, sweet, I don't have much break time reason. :)

First outcasts, later to become in vogue.

Have you ever seen a silver Lab? Genetic defect on black. Last time I had heard, AKC was not recognizing them.

Question on your horse Tennessee.
Is he a racking/walker cross, or a walker that racks?

No.... I haven't ever seen one. But I did a search on them just now... and see the debate about them.... most thinking they are a defect, a few people breeding ~for~ them. They'll figure out how to really screw them up too, I suppose. ;~D

The paint that's bucking like a booger is the one he imprinted from birth??

I like the color stuff too. The genetics of it get way to complicated, though.

No such thing as a silver Lab, although unscrupulous breeders will try to sell you a light-colored yellow Lab as a "rare white" or "rare silver." A Choc with a yellow coat is sometimes called a "dudley" - has pinkish pigmentation in the nose and eye rims. They look pretty weird, and they aren't acceptable in the show ring, but there's nothing wrong with them in any sort of objective way.

Here's my breeder's take on color in Labs:

Lab Lessons - Let's Talk About Color?

She breeds nothing but Labs, and she's been in the business for 30 or 40 years . . .

My boss probably doesn't mind. It's the "big brother" IT people, who monitor the servers that I worry about. They have fired people at other sites, for being on line so much.

No, these appear to be a new thing... a mutation of some kind... they are silver, and look like Weimeraners.

Interesting that the "splashed white" pattern carries the genetic defect of deafness.

Maybe for some people.

Not really.... they are registering them as Chocolates. I am sure they would be ignored in the show ring. They might be different and cool looking, but I think the fact that there are people going out of their way to make them is just the same old oft-repeated story.

No such thing as a silver Lab.

Well, I did see one, and a local lab breeder does have them.
